I really like this arrangement. It stays really clean and avoids the gimmicky-ness that a capella sometimes falls into.
I'd say this even makes that important step that takes it out of "another a capella cover" territory.

Okay, just hear me out. Geoff out of his lower register is so *disgustingly* underrated. Like??? We get that he's an amazing bass, but it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful his upper range is (and he's gorgeous, but that doesn't need to be stated). Can he honestly leave some talent for the rest of us? (Don't misinterpret that, they're all fantastic).

Confession: Eli is my personal favorite member of VP (holdover from my rock&roll youth). Having said that, there’s no doubt J. None starred in this video with Layne’s beatboxing nipping J’s heels. Usual perfection from Eli & Earl. Can I mention that Geoff’s human range is as sublime as his inhuman low register? While enumerating excellence, the arrangement, lighting, setting, & costumes were also exceptional. Thank you again VP.

I've watched this so many times, and the harmony they do at 2:36 never fails to gives me chills. But I also just noticed a fun cascade they do at 1:40. (follow the lights in the video if you don't notice right away). Really there are so many good moments in this, and I'm not even a fan of the original song! Amazingly talented group.

Binging on old VP videos and realizing so many of them are underappreciated gems. This one is just smooth and lovely and perfectly integrated. No part stands out as the "one" thing - much like Tennessee Whiskey the pieces fit together with exquisite balance. And J's voice is (as always) so lovely in his solo. Love this so much.
