Joe demos the WHD Practice Mesh Drum heads.

The WHD Practice Mesh Drumheads enable drummers to practice at home with minimal noise.

Low Volume Drumhead for Quiet Practice - The WHD Practice Mesh Drumhead is perfect for quiet practice at home. The single ply mesh material produces a realistic spring and response seen with standard drumheads whilst keeping the decibel level to a minimum. The WHD drumheads fit standard acoustic drum shells and this pack includes all drumheads for a standard 5 piece fusion configuration.

Suitable as an Electronic Drum Trigger - The WHD Practice Mesh Drumheads can also be used in wider applications and can be used as electronic drum triggers. This allows drummers to expand their drum kit sound by adding the option of MIDI sounds.

This video was produced in Gear4music's own studio facility at its headquarters in York.

Just bought a set of these and, gotta say, the response isn't realistic at all, imo. If they're just past finger tight you can get something like a floor tom, any tension and the bounce is about twice what you get from a mylar (snare) head. They'll be handy for practicing beats on a quiet kit setup but not much use for rudiments/hand technique work.
