You probably already know that in order to use those top-notch, massive Kontakt libraries, you need a powerful CPU and enough RAM to get you through it. But even then, you might experience audio glitches or dropouts during playback. So, in today's video, I want to show you the one setting that can be an absolute game-changer for you and stop the headaches of stopping your production process to freeze tracks or purge all samples. Plus, I'm going to show you some more tips on how to maximize your RAM while you're using these libraries. This works for all users regardless of it being Kontakt 7, Kontakt 6, or older.

This helped so much man. I’d prefer to use individual instances of Kontakt and this made them all run so much smoother just by purging the samples. Subscribed.

definitely gonna look into this buffer thing. never touched it before and frankly had no idea how it affects memory/cpu usage so thanks for this! also, hate hate hate hate hate kontakt multi's. not only do you have to fight against the audio multi-out matrix of doom, trying to figure out which kontakt library corresponds to which midi track omg, so not worth the marginal performance efficiency you get. single kontakt instance per library all the way! by the way, nice choice with the vertical monitor!

Multi's has alot of advantages. Imagine if you have some broken libraries that are on different drive or moved, on a multi you can fix it once but on single instances you will have to fix all. Now imagine a 20+ instance that swill be a pain. Yes multis have some setting up routing but when its a habit its a good way to go.

Also don't be afraid to bounce to audio. It will free up resources and give you a new playing field to work with your own samples :)

So, I’m not using an ssd but I am storing and running all my plugins ( kontakt etc ) from a 4.5tb external . Will this concept apply with my setup aswell ? Thanks alot for the info btw !

Hello. Would you please explain how your computer is set up? Are You PC or MAC based? On my computer (PC) - Serum and Omnisphere just once on my computer - is a strain. My "C" drive is filling up. I like Toontrack, Spitfire and Native Instruments as well. Do you use external drives? What's on your "C" drive and your external drives. What is the size of your "C" drive? Mine is 1 TB.

I find it confusing still. To prioritise CPU you lower the buffer size below the default value?

Hello, I just got myself the monomy VST and the Arp is not syncing to the project tempo... I managed to get it synced inside the project but when i export to mp3 it is unsynced inside the beat i made. does anyone know how to fix this? I have searched for an answer but i cant find anything.. I am using a kontakt 7 player to play the instrument and my DAW is FL studio

Nie advice thanks. I had a question, I'm about to create my new orchestra template and wanted to make the most of my Ram. I have the M2 Max arriving next week which is 12core CPU, 96gb Ram & 8TB. I know the 8TB is most likely overkill and the ram too, but would you suggest having the preload buffer size maxed out? I'm sure the M2 will manage everything, but wanted to utilise the ram. And I'm guessing I'm fine with having all my VST Orchestra samples on the 8TB? Thanks

Hello! I have a question. Do you install your Komplete sound libraries onto an external hard drive--If so, how big? It's taking up too much space on my Mac hard drive. 🙂

I just got kontakt, im messing with a drum (any sound actually) loop pattern and on FL studio its failing to play completely through, no pops or noises but just like failing to properly drum the last half of the 4 bars to complete the loop. If I multi two sounds on kontakt it slightly struggles to play the intended loops. Task Manager doesnt show anything struggling but it happens when CPU reaches 20%, ive tried your advice but have no results. Is it in the realm of possibility you might know of a solution for me?

Please answer me. I have Acer with slow cpu, and which version is better for me. Kontakt 6.7 full version or kontakt portable. Thanks.

It's not about CPU and Ram its about learning how to fucking code properly. Kontakt is garbage.
