Best car ever, bought it at 21 and put over 200, 000 miles on it with no mayor repairs.
Most of these miles were off-roading,
Mud and water never had a issue
Sold the car in 2015 to pay for my wedding.

Vehicles that the environment could no longer handle? I dont know about that one, when I was a kid we were told that acid rain would kill everything and they needed to raise taxes. Then they said the ozone was depleting and they needed to raise taxes. Now its global warming and they need to raise taxes.
I think the truth (coming from someone in the business) is that GM makes cheaply made, ugly, unreliable vehicles and tries to sell them at top prices.

Mechanics hated the Hummer because of the engine, transmission, suspension layout and the costs of those parts. They also depreciate in value very quickly.

I have an original M998 - It is surprisingly very modest on fuel. Granted 13ish MPG is not great - when I take it off road it stays running virtually all day and just barely sips the diesel in trail conditions. The off road is where it is - the on-road is extremely compromised with a lack of high speed and lack of general creature comforts. I can't imagine using an electric one the way I use the diesel - far off-road well away from any charging stations and overnighting in cold weather. I don't see the "new one" as anything to relate to the old one other than the name tag and hype around it. I see it confident off road as long as you are close to a power cord to keep it going.

The Dodge Ram had FAR more obscene fuel consumption than the Hummer - so not really a factor. Believe the style became dated rather quickly.

If you own a Hummer in Australia you are ridiculed without mercy.

The fatal mistake that GM made with reintroducing the Hummer is that the EV Hummer is just as horribly inefficient as its gas and diesel counterparts. Its a 4.5 ton battering ram. Ive only seen a few here in Las Vegas, primarily the first few months they came out. I havent seen one since. Once again, GM is doing everything WRONG. Example: Ford brought back the Bronco. Jeep has their Wrangler. And Chevy brought back the Blazer as a rental fleet piece of shit. Its shocking that the brass at GM have jobs after all these horrifyingly bad decisions, decade after decade.

Imagine designing & building a new model of vehicle, revolutionary in its time, then calling it the "Blowjob."

It’s a nice car! Used to love it when I was little! But now, this cybertruck makes it feel like it’s not upto date!🥲
