As a Greek, a LOT of people like to go to like the famous islands, such as Σαντορίνη, Μύκονος, η Κρίτη. But you should try out some smaller, less known islands. Such as Λευκάδα, οι Σέριφος. Which aren’t as expensive and still super beautiful. Or just go to the main land and find small towns/villages near the coast, which can have beautiful views.

There are many places worth visiting in Greece because every island and town is different

I recommend Agiokampo, Kavala or trikeri. All beautiful oceanside spots up the mainland. Santorini’s just a volcanic rock with no trees

When I visited Santorini, I stayed at Epic View Suites in Akrotiri village and it was Amazing.Good value for money too

I am in Santorini, right now, at Pegasus Suite and I paid much less than that. 4 nights with air tickets less than £2000. It is July 2024.

Try going during the off season. That $1000 room will literally be 1/3 the price
