According to Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger the best investment is to find a wonderful business at a fair price.
A look at S&P 500 PE and CAPE ratios will show that with a bit of hard work it should still be possible to find great investments at good prices. The global stock market offers more possibilities so with proper research and due diligence it should be possible to find great investments at a fair price.

Thanks for this insightful video Sven. Is it fair to say that in recent times Berkshire's holding period for stocks is getting shorter which is different from the public persona of "Our Favorite Holding Period is FOREVER" ! I think Berkshire is pretty good at cutting losers in recent times - maybe Buffet's lieutenants . Please make a video on your process for deciding when a buy is a mistake and getting out of it - if we are in choppy markets reminiscent of the 1966-82 period, it could be impt. skill to have!

What do you think on such strategy. For instance, somebody loves how Seth Klarman is investing. Why not just copy his investments, as we know his portfolio? I am 100% sure that average individual investor can not be smarter that Klarman. So, why to analyze stocks if you can just copy Klarman or any other succesful investor?

Very interesting that what Buffet advises and what he actually does are two different things. How can we follow his advice and try to learn his tactics and ways of thinking if he doesn't even follow them?

In such an overvalued environment I believe that even fairly priced acceptable businesses will go down in case of a drop, at least at first. So risk - reward is not worth it at the moment, not with all the cash that one has...That is of course only my opinion...

Russia is cheap... but got its own issues... its 7th largest bank recently became insolvent (I think it was biggest private one).. signs of something big coming.... smells of amplified 1998 LTCM... worldwide stuff

Dr.Carlin, this and similar videos does not help to find companies which are ready to skyrocket. For instance, I bought NVDA in 2015 only because I believed in driverless cars and I though that video cards will be needed to develop that sector. The stock is +600%. Still if I would use p/e ratios etc, I should not buy that stock. The same with Glencore in 2015. So, I think that understanding of common trends and where the world ir moving is more important that only key statistics.
