The fact that Jane’s mother (Fairy godmother) didn’t try to stop her but Mal did and she was a villan

I feel so bad for Jane, her mother cared more about strangers than her own daughter. She didn’t even call her daughter by her real name throughout the entire movie. And to make matters worse, unlike all the other children of fairytale characters she doesn’t have any special abilities or magic.

The way Ben runs over to protect her and Belle yells “careful mal”, it js shows how after they got used to who she was, they accepted her and even started to care for her. People don’t often mention these little details, but it’s so sweet ❤

You know the sad thing is when Jane had the wand no one listened to the king and took cover but when Mal got the wand everyone ducked and only the queen and Ben cared enough to tell her be careful and Ben tried to shield her because they both genuinely cared about Mal.

The fact that when about 2 seconds in of jane using the wand and Ben quickly rushed to map to protect her despite all dangers it can occur is so lovely. 😭💗

It’s the fact that NO ONE and I mean absolutely NO ONE is talking about how when Jane had the wand people were scared and SOME were taking cover, BUT when Mal had the wand in her hand EVERYONE took cover as if SHE was gonna point the wand at them and hurt them. People were more afraid of Mal using it than Jane, even though Mal knew how to use it and Jane didn't. It's because Mal is the daughter of Maleficent, and people think she's like her. They weren't afraid of Jane using it because shes the daughter of a literal fairytale hero.

POV on Mal: One thing I noticed is about this scene is when Mal grabbed the wand everyone (but Ben and his parents) flinched. This shows us how they were more afraid of Mal than they were Jane. Only bc they thought she would be like Maleficent. Whatever everyone thought was a poisoned apple never fell far from the tree. I also blame the school system for this bc the VK's were getting bullied and they knew but no addressed the situation and no punishments were given. They never created a safe place for them bc seeing in the movie with cookie scene the VK's clearly have truma of neglect from their parents and only wanted approval from their parents. And yet they were never treated like any other student bc people were scared of them and no one was helping them.



POV on Jane: I wish we got to more of jane and FG relationship. It was heartbreaking seeing how FG never treated Jane as her own Flesh and blood. She even calls her "child what are you doing" in the sence, not even stopping her and caring for her safety. We even got to see the Relationship between Mal and Hades but through all of the movies she saw Jane as just another student. Seeing a villain care about their child more than a fairytale hero makes you start see she wasn't a good mother.
