Chances are I haven’t. 20 out of all the pennies in use.

This is so wrong on so many levels.

1. It's 1943 not 1942.
2. The "D" means the Denver Mint and that's not what makes the coin special.
3. What makes the 1943 cent special is they were minted out of steel to save copper for bullets in WWII. Roughly 50 where accidentally made out of copper.
4. The ones minted in 1943 accidentally made from copper are worth hundreds of thousands not millions.

Just fact checking at its finest 🤦‍♂️

Hey everyone, it's awesome if you have a coin from that long ago! I just want to clear some things up though.
First: The year of the coin is 1943 not 1942
Second: The D under the date isn't what's rare about it. That's just the mint mark showing you where the coin was minted.
D= Denver
P or blank= Philadelphia
S= Sanfranciso
Third of all: The coin is rare because in 1943 they were supposed to making steel pennies instead of copper. That's because they were needing to save copper for the war.
I hope this helps you guys 😀

This is so filled with misinformation. The “rare” coins around this time are the copper 1943. And the steel 1944.
If you didn’t even know about steel pennie’s then you need to research more before you claim a coin you found is a rare one

Most of the time when you have a penny with a D on it, it just means that it was minted in a state starting with D you have to actually get the penny’s material checked if you think you have one

Him: Chances you have used one of these
Also him: There are only 20 of them out of all the Pennie’s in the world

When I was little, I found a penny from 1943. It wasn't made of steel. I thought "Oh, this isn't a steel one. It's a common boring normal '43 penny." And I chucked it.
