Are the students required to use ‘canned responses’ in discussions like repeat the question, can you rephrase, etc?

This Autor paper is interesting. Does anyone have any thoughts on it? The teller example is interesting. It is one I have seen but haven’t translated to the whole. I also thought it was interesting that Autor made a distinction between consumer goods and agricultural goods. Bill does a fantastic job as always....just wish he had his backward cap on;)
