This was the Seekers at the very end of their 5 decades of brilliant music. Judith Durham was still recovering from her brain haemorrhage here which saw her having to relearn how to walk, speak and sing. Sadly we lost her last year. Thks for a respectful reaction.

For me, this sng incorporates ALL AUSSIES and I certainly would not be disappointed if it became our National Anthem. the opening singer Bruce woodley wrote this song. Makes me proud to be Aussie and they sure do a brilliant job of it.

If you guys decided to live in Australia you would not be called African Australians, you would be just called Australian. We don’t put people into categories, we are one but many and from all the lands we come, we sing with one voice, I am, you are, we are Australian.

Makes me cry every time! I'm not Australian, but have been there and loved it! Great song!!! I really miss the Seekers, who were part of my girlhood.

We are one but we are many. One of the best lyrics written by anyone.

This song tells the story of this Great Southern Land, from The First Nations to the Convicts and Free Settlers; it talks about our battles and triumphs, our colonial historical anecdotes and The Land. The chorus talks of where we came from and the dreams we share; it recognizes who Australians are.

There is also a version with Mandawuy Yunupingo singing the part of the 40, 000 years of the 1st Australian. It is beautiful to hear it in his accented voice, it makes one understand much more clearly, how people have been, have become, and continue to adopt Australian citizenship and cultures.

The Seekers are an iconic Australian folk influenced pop group formed in Melbourne in 1962. They were the first Australian group to find success overseas. The group consisted of Judith Durham on vocals, piano and tambourine; Athol Guy on double bass and vocals; Keith Potger on twelve-string guitar, banjo and vocals; and Bruce Woodley on guitar, mandolin, banjo and vocals. The group initially performed between 1962 to 1968, when they broke up and Judith became a solo artist whilst Athol hosted his own tv show; in 1969 Keith formed and managed a new group The New Seekers, and Bruce Woodley released several solo albums as well as co-writing I Am Australian with Dobe Newton of the Bushwackers. During the 70's and 80's there were several reunion concerts with most of the original group, however without the distinctive timbreof Durham's voice they broke up again. The Seekers reunited in 1992 with the classic line-up of Durham, Guy, Potger and Woodley after 20 years, the 25 year Silver Jubilee Reunion Celebration tour in 1993 which included 102 tour dates; the success of the tour led to several, on and off, performance, until shortly before the death of Judith Durham in August 2022.

Judith passed away in 2023, it was a huge loss to all of us.

Back in the 1960's, can't remember which year off hand, but the seekers sold more records than the Beatles and the Rolling Stones! Just trivia at this point but it does say a mouth full about this wonderful singing group. Judith's voice is one and only! Thanks for putting up the video.

The first Group to go straight into The UK Charts @ Number 1 in 1964 with "I'll Never Find Another You".
Beautiful Group singing Australia's unofficial National Anthem., as all those references were very meaningfull to Auusies all over the World.
