Genuine journalist are heroes. Thank you. Bad things happen when good people say nothing.

The rationale of"i was just doing my job"is not morally justified in this case, what about the rights of Zuma in his personal capacity

Jacob Zuma has rights as well. He has rights to challenge all those that he thinks are infringing on his rights. I do not think Karayn is a super human being neither her proffession is a super proffession. The court must be allowed to hear the matter before them and determine without being influenced by the so called organisations supporting the other part . All persons and people have rights. Zuma feels his rights were trempled on and has never taken the law unto his hands. Has taken matter to court for examination. Journalists must understand that they are not above the law and must strive to be as fair and impartial as possible when reporting. They must know that when they report anything, they must be sure and know that they are going to be held accountable. They cannot be allowed to just run loose and report on matters and think the members of the public would simple ignore and life goes . Journalists must be accountable, they are not a law unto themselves. Let the court hear the case and determine without interference.

Former president Jacob Zuma’s advocate Dali Mpofu was adamant a letter from Zuma’s military doctor did not contain any confidential medical information *but now contends that its disclosure was a crime that should be punished with a 15-year jail term.*

Also, a number of politicians and civilians have criticized journalist Karyn Maughan for her role in exposing the confidential medical information of former president Jacob Zuma with the help of state prosecutor advocate Billy Downer.

The former president was and is still a public figure and what he and his cronies did during his term in office are matters of public interest.
What is more damaging, exposing his public record *or* exposing all his alleged criminal activities?

Today South Africa is still reeling because of all the damage caused by Zuma and many of his cohorts and it will take many years for the economy to fully recover.

Now, if those who exposed Zuma's medical records should be punished with 15 years jail term as recommended by the honorouble Dali Mpofu, then surely Zuma and all his cohorts should be punished ten times more for what they did to the taxpayers of South Africa.

This thing called SANEF should be dissolved, useless

SANEF is led and supported by people who are against indigenous peoples of South Africa. These sellouts need to be treated the same way the USA is treating Julian Assange. Why has SANEF been quite on the jailing of Julian Assange?, because they know that the US and Britain will target them too. So, they are playing politics and they must be seen as enemies.

This doctor's letter was a matter of public record already, as has been argued in court: court documents are a matter of public record. Procedurally they should fail anyway, as there was no nolle prosequi certificate for Karyn Maugham before the private prosecution against her was launched.
Zuma's counsel took so long to respond to very cogent and reasonable arguments in favour of the applications by Downer and Maughan. What does that say about the strength and validity of both the private prosecution and the opposition to the applications? Doing or using whataboutisms here are irrelevant.

Journalists can't be left to trample upon rights of another human being, just to push the bottom line, let the law take its cause

Zuma's private medical records were released illegally. Being a journalist doesn't mean you're above the law. .
