I just realized: you know what would be so cool? If for pin secured USB drive there were multiple file safes. Ie entering one PIN would grant access to a certain group of files, whereas another would lead to a different group. Handy if you want to give certain people access to only specific files (eg a will or handing off some specific files to a colleague without granting them access to everything) but also if you were ever in a situation where you’re forced to unlock the drive, that you can just unlock a certain, non-compromising area of it, making it appear as though you just granted someone access to everything.

Just stumbled upon your channel while researching about VPNs. Really like the honest and clear explanations without being like: "It's absolutely stupid to do xyz". You explain things patiently and clearly without judging. That's what I was looking for, just subscribed.
Keep it up, man!

That virtual credit card is a great idea. Handy for things you are not too sure about security on their side.

That thing that only charges your phone, without any data, the Data Blocker. You can potentially make your own if you have the skills. You can take a USB A male to female and just cut the 2 data cables.

really love these short takes that are succinct and are down to the point with really useful tips and advice. I think cybersecurity and privacy should be a life skill just like managing money, organising your time, etc.

Instead of that data-only dongle, users might get an inexpensive USB tester. They typically provide a charge-only port like that dongle. But they also provided over-voltage protection and the ability to measure charging current and total charge. The last is handy if you suspect your phone is no longer taking a full charge. They're now coming out with versions for USB-C.

I really like the virtual credit card. I look forward to more information from you.

I've honestly never thought that public USB charging might be reading data. Personally I never use them, however the USB Data Blocker sounds essential if you do.

This is great stuff.
There are all kinds of things out there that work with everyday tech situations.
I work for county government public works where we use many vehicles and about 7 or 8 yrs ago, they suddenly one day they decided they needed GPS tracking in all the vehicles and were going to test it first on myself and another guy who we both had specific jobs I won't say, just in case, you know.
But I was pissed thinking I'm going to be watched all day.
What's the point of being by yourself all day if you can't do this and that, as long as you're getting your job done.
I decided to do a simple search and found alot of expensive stuff to block it, but then I came across this device you just stick in the power jack (cigerette lighter) and it claimed to stop any GPS tracking. And it was only about 10 bucks.
So I bought it and it worked like a charm.
I couldn't believe it, worked great.
I would take it out now and then, of course only when I was where I was supposed to be and put back after a while. Did this all day.
The other guy was pissed cause they were only calling him all day.
So I got him one and we both did the same thing for about a month, while their techies kept trying to fix it at the computer level.
And even had the installers come back a couple times to see what's wrong in the trucks.
Of course they never found anything wrong and decided these things didn't work so good and were more trouble than they're worth.
They never once suspected we were doing anything. I mean, what did a couple of dumb blue colors know about stopping GPS.
So they told the company no thanks and to this day not one vehicle can be tracked.
It was the greatest thing to see these two 10$ cigerette sized electronic devices put the lid on setting up an entire public works fleet from having GPS.
We're dying to tell the other guys, but we know it will somehow end up in the wrong ears.
But I'm good with that if he does, as I'm retiring in 6 months.
Things move so fast these days, that I doubt they would still work with the more up to date GPS there must be out there.
But I'll bet you there's advancements on those blockers as well.
By no means does everything have simple answers in our new tech world, but there will always be some that do and are worth trying if they're cheap like these were.
Or some cases, free.
Love this guy's channel though, been learning more than I ever thought I could about privacy issues and such.
Cause there are more than just information hounds out there to get us to spend money.
The theifs aren't even the worse.
There are some downright maniacs out there trying to do many awful things to people in this world.
Conspiracy has suddenly become reality.
So now free speech has become more valuable than gold imo.
Well very soon anyway.
Nothing more I'd like to be wrong about than that.

One thing I like that came stock with my laptop was a slider that covers the camera built into it. It is also red so you can easily tell when the camera is covered up. It’s the little things that count haha

In this day and age, I have to say what you're saying makes a lot of sense to utilize when it comes to securing our money and data. I'm glad I watched your video today. Thanks All Things Secured.

Really interesting video! About the data blocker. There are USB cables which split up into three connections (USB-C, micro USB and lightning). These often cannot transfer any data because only the power pins are actually wired up.

The virtual cc is awesome.Didnt know it existed. Especially for subscriptions and this new nasty setting of "auto renewals". They bury the cancel feature to deep, that you cant find it

Note:-
- A USB data blocker still needs to do some data negotiation otherwise you're power will be limited to under 1A
- BTW the Aegis key does not wipe the data if you enter the pin wrong 10 times, the hardware only blows the E-fuse on the data lines to the section of memory containing the current encryption key. Barring very careful physical attack that should be good enough.
- Virtual credit cards are very country specific & mostly are Virtual debit cards & thus lack normal credit card protections.
- Cold storage wallets that are more complex than a USB storage key have broken in the past & should be used cautiously.

I came across this researching the Apricorn for the very idea you mentioned about the “Death File” you use yours for. A quick video for possible things you could use to add to make your own “Death file” to extend on the bullet points you already use would be good 😊

I like the extra security the Onlykey affords. If I lose it or if I forget and leave it plugged into my desktop while I go to lunch, no one can get to whatever I have stored on it. It's like sandwiching a door smart-lock onto a Yubikey.
