The choice of a lawyer is an important decision and should not be based solely upon advertisements

Hello, This is Springfield, Missouri, Personal Injury Attorney Jason Krebs. In today's video, I thought we would answer the question that we're getting, or we're seeing problems with as much as anything, and that is, "What is the most important thing I can do immediately following a Missouri car accident, to help my case?"

The most important thing that you can do is, right here. Use your phone, obviously to call 911 if you're in a situation where you need immediate medical care you should report, make an injury, police report I mean, with the local authorities, but use the camera feature, video feature of your phone and take pictures, take video, photograph the scene, photograph the driver, photograph their insurance card. Take video, sometimes you can get good video of people making admissions or whatever.

Understand that the other driver may be doing the same to you, but if you weren't at fault, this phone can make a lot of difference for your case, because if you have good documentation it's going to make it that much harder for the insurance adjuster to try to come up with some theory, that you were somehow responsible, at least partially, to try to minimize your damages. So, you can't take too many pictures, walk around taking videos, around the accident scene. Take a picture of the police officer that shows up so you know who documented the accident. All that's assuming that you don't need to go in an ambulance ride to the hospital, but if nothing else, somebody that's with you should be trying to document these things.

Thanks for watching and the best of luck. Bye.
