Fun story: When I was in preschool/kindergarten I once got irritated that my teacher would not call me by a certain name (usually one from a show/series I was into at the time), went home, and complained to my parents about it.

I love this! I wish more people realized this. I work in healthcare and when we code people for disorders, we actually have a code for “gender confusion”. Even the medical field identifies it as a disorder.
