Volvo 740 no start Drama's!

Long time since last upload! Trying to tackle some of my no start / inconsistent starts on my 740 before moving into some interior projects later in 2023!

High beam indicator should not turn on when pressing the brake pedal.
On the inside of both front fenders, just behind the corner lights, there are grounding points for various electrical components. Pull off all the wires, and remove the 10mm bolt in the center. Sand the brackets and make sure there are no corrision on them nor the spade connectors.
There are the same type of ground points inside the car, behind the kickpanels on both sides. Give them the same treatment, and you'll get rid of a lot of strange faults in your car.

@0:55 In case of those old Volvos, sometimes it pays to pay a little bit more if that means you save money in parts and shipping. Unless you are a hardcore DIYer or someone who is looking for an experience.

There are 2 fuel pump relays behind the ashtray they can sometimes fail. Also the crankcase sensor can have problems

Please change the fuel filter. you would not believe the number of people I have bumped into that don't know a car has a fuel filter on it.

That switch in the glove box is and after market installation by the owner. Put in to stop theft.
I'd say you were a bit lucky to stumble on that. But it's good you did.
If you going to one the fuel lines to the injectors I would de pressurise the line first. I understand the fuel rail on the engine maintains fuel at high pressure so it starts immediately. It could be dangerous to open a high pressure line near the injectors and have it spray in your eyes. Take care.
