Happy Saturday friends!

Today I wanted to share with you the 10 classics that are right at the top of my to-be-read pile. I have been reading more classics than usual recently, and have been loving discovering these incredible tales for myself. As a result, I want to push myself to read some more of the books that I have wanted to read for a long time.

Grab a cup of tea, and I hope you enjoy!

You've got such a great collection of classics. Wuthering heights is really something else. It's the epitome of love and hate, obsession and toxic relationships. I am trying to re-read it again hopefully this year. I too have lots of classics lying on my shelf but being a non-native speaker myself, it takes lengthy of time to finish a book. Impressive content. Looking forward to more. Instant subbed.

You have some great books to look forward to!! I've read quite a few but have some I haven't gotten to yet.

I'm currently reading Clarissa by Samuel Richardson but after that the next will be Jude the Obscure with a friend.

I highly recommend the tenant of wildfell hall, the book was a masterpiece, and anne is definitely a genius ❤. I want to read dracula and doctor zhivago but i’ll keep them for next fall and winter. Happy reading 💐.

I loved Tennant of Wildfell Hall and I liked Wuthering Heights (the first half was great the second felt drawn out).
Pride and Prejudice is a good book, though not my favourite Austen book.
I want to read Fellowship of the Ring for the first time this spring!
Good luck ♡

Everyone always raves about Mr. Darcy, but my favorite romantic hero of that era is definitely Mr. Thornton of North and South! ❤

I would love to read more classics, but my brain will have none of it now. My mind seems to wonder far too much and I get interrupted often. I read Little Women many years ago. Also enjoyed Little Men and Jo's Boys. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend

I’ve read all except To the Lighthouse and I never finished the hunchback. All of them well worth reading, but One Hundred Years of Solitude (read 2 or 3 times) and Les Miserables are my favourites.

Loved Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice. I struggled with Persuasion and didnt finish it. I think you will really enjoy Pride and Prejudice. I struggled with Wuthering heights and was a challenge to get through it, I just kept pushing myself to get through it, so many times I just wanted to dnf it.
Little Women is such a beautiful story, wholesome and so sweet, I am sure you are going to love it.
100 years of solitude is one of my all time favorite books, incredible journey. I did struggle at first and about 100 pages in gave up. I really wanted to finish it so after a year I picked it up again and I am so glad I did. Ursula is one of those characters that are legendary. Truly a remarkable book. I hope it will bring you so much joy aswell, I had to refer back alot to the family tree, it is a challenging book but so worth it.

Looking forward to your reviews on all these books. Hope you enjoy them

Such a great list! North and South is one of my favourites! Little Women is my favourite book of all time, it's an absolute joy of a book! The 1994 adaptation is amazing!

I've read Wuthering Heights, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and Jane Eyre and Jane Eyre will forever be my favorite. However, I think all of them are great in their own way. Wuthering Heights is really not a great love story, but rather a lot of toxic relationships with a gothic atmosphere. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall is progressive with a strong female character and Jane Eyre is just entirely perfect. You can see I'm biased :)

Pride and prejudice was one of the first classics I've read and I'd like to reread it someday, because I struggled a bit with getting into it as well. I did however end up enjoying it a lot.

I've also just finished To the Lighthouse and I read it over the span of almost a year, taking long breaks and just picking it up when I felt like it. Virginia Woolfs writing style is a bit hard to get through at times, but what I liked to do was to pick a park bench and read outside. The story was cozy and calming but also sad at times but overall I felt weirdly at peace reading it.

I honestly don't understand the hype around Wuthering Heights as there is really not a lot to love about the plot or the characters. But I do think the writing is amazing! Little Women, on the other hand, is my all-time favourite book and you're in for a treat (I think it can be enjoyed at any time of the year but it is quite the cozy and comforting read so winter would be perfect!). I also have yet to read The Return of the King, it's taken me three years to read all three books but this will be the year I complete it!

I mostly read classics, I love them. Wuthering Heights is going to be a fast read, the pace is much more sustained than that of Jane Eyre. I loved both books, but they are very different. Wuthering Heights isn't a love story, it deals with rather unhealthy feelings and relationships. The writing style is superb, it is going to be very enjoyable, I believe.
I read Pride and Prejudice when I was a young teen and didn't like it. I re-read it when I was 30 and loved it so much that I read all Jane Austen's novels in a very short time. Emma is my favourite, even from the writing style point of view.
To be fair, magical realism blossomed before Garcia Marquez, with Gogol' (especially in The Nose), whose works I strongly recommend. I think Dostoevskij, Gogol' and Tolstoj should not be missing from the classics you'll read. Also Hesse, Zweig, Kafka, etc. :)

I just took one of those quizens you mentioned - I got Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I have not read it, but it’s on my bucket list 😁

Many of the books your list, is also my bucket list. Of all the books you mention, I have only read LotR, but it’s a long time ago. I really enjoyed it then though.

At the moment I’m reading war and peace, and it’s really good 🥰

I finished One Hundred Years of Solitude earlier this year, and so glad that I did 😊✨️
It's not as intimidating as it sounds. I really like Gabriel García Márquez's writing style. It does feel intellectual (in this book, anyway), but I wouldn't say it's difficult to read. He creates such vibrant atmosphere with the way he writes.
The names also aren't as confusing as you think they would be. I would recommend annotating, because it is that kind of book. But the similarity in character names is intentional and it's a big part of what the book is saying. Emma (* e m m i e *) said in one of her vlogs about this book that it doesn't really matter if you get confused between characters, because they're all kind of the same anyway (this will become clear as you read). I agree with her.
I understand why Gabriel García Márquez won a Nobel Prize after writing this book. It is that good. But it is also one of the most deeply disturbing books I've read, in a very unique way. If you are a sensitive soul (like me), maybe read some trigger warnings if you feel you might need to steel yourself.

Everything said, I think this book is absolutely worth the read! ✨️

My favourite classic so far is Les Misérables. I just took that quiz and got Alice in Wonderland. 🙂📚

I didn't care for Les Mis. You have my random internet stranger blessing to skip that one.

Pride and Prejudice is top shelf awesomeness, definitely reread that.

I want to read Middlemarch sometime soon: I've loved the other Eliot books I've read.
