That “doorway “ you’re making in your basement, to the outside, you should put in a double door and make it a walk out basement! We did that, and our kids played in the basement on the unfinished cement floors, even riding bikes and rollerblading! The door makes it easier to carry things in and out of the basement…like a huge extra freezer, for a cow we had butchered!!

Time to make blueprints with all old and new wires and pipes outlined on the farmstead map. Saves a lot of time on the next upgrade.

As a contracting officer for the Army, I always demanded a set of "AS BUILTs". Documentation of where the underground stuff is. This was critical as we opened the and put more things into a trench we had already installed, as for your big door on the basement wall, it could cause big problems with water in the basement. Lately, with all the flooding could be a real problem. it would make a nice entrance to a tornado shelter if properly reinforced.

Conveyor belt to get the dirt out works like a champ and saves a lot of effort and time.

Roman that is why truckers are told to pull over every two hours to check their loads and straps. Straps come loose!

Doing it right is what I love about this. You can farmer do it or you can do it right. BTW farmer doing it in Australia is basically making it work until you get the right parts delivered. As far as electricals and all that goes one very interesting and cool way of running underground electricals and internet is running drilling rigs to horizontal drill and then pull conduit through. I have seen a single drill hole pull 4 lines through in one and run internet cables.

Roman is absolutely a gentleman with his own style of humor.

Abit of ADVICE TO YOU COLE...as you make the trenches in the land, you should make a schematic design to KNOW WHERE your live [ ACTIVE ] cables are and what depth they are. Do this to ALL trenching you do, then in future YOU KNOW excatly where they are, what depth etc etc. I love what you do.

I love these video, they’re so honest and forthcoming. I told my husband he’s not the only one that has problems working on the house. One problem leads to another problem and it just keeps on going….keep going it will get better.👍🏻👍🏻

Real smart to put a second conduit for the well pump in the same hole. Call the H20 mechanic for the well from you tube. Good info on his channel. Good idea fresh power, new panels. Did the hand pump well still work?
The lawn looks great.

I had mentioned a long time back about doing this access into the basement, so glad to see it happening! It will be great addition. When you do the foundation for the addition, I hope you out an access into that basement so yo don't lose this one. While I really enjoy all the farming stuff, what had brought me here in the first place, this remodel is even better!

Cole, my electrician is one of my old school chums and was a neighbor when we were kids. He suggested installing a breaker after the meter so when I needed to discon power, I wouldn't have to wait for the power company to come do it. Worth the added expense if your company is like ours.

Hi Cole, just some forward thinking, when you dig the ramp into the basement, make sure you have a way to seal up the ramp to prevent flooding your basement incase it rains.

Cole, I am amazed at how much knowledge you have about the workings of the structure, the plumbing and electricity of your farm. Also the mechanical aspects of all the equipment you work with. You are such a knowledgeable young man and I am sure your parents and Nave are so proud of you. I love watching your videos! Keep up the good work! 😊
