Hi Aileen 😊 Stupendous reaction to Dimas Senopati's What's Up 😊👍 The reason Linda Perry could not use the more appropriate title What's Going On for her song is because Marvin Gaye has a song back in 1971 by that title so for copyright purposes she had to go with What's Up. And yes, when you reacted to 4 Non Blondes a little while ago you were a bit confused until you started hearing the beginnings of the song and then you knew exactly "what was going on". Dimas is very respectful when he does covers. It requires a lot of research. His band is outstanding. The basic rule of doing a cover is to be true to the original. The Listener should be able to know that this is a cover. There's always room for artistic license. Dimas does make this his own while still being true to the original. In his previous covers, it's the same thing. You know that he's singing a cover because you can hear the original in his performance. That is the way to honor the original artist and Dimas does an outstanding job. I have read all the comments and all the recommendations for future Dimas performances are outstanding and I can't wait to hear your reactions to them as you truly love his performances.
