Star Citizen is an Open Development Alpha Project by Cloud Imperium. It is 2 Games really though, the Persistent Universe that aims to build a First Person MMO Space Sim that encompasses gameplay in ship & on ground, economy and pretty much anything else you can think of. It's built in the StarEngine (a modified Lumberyard Engine). You'll see massive Space Ships that you can fly with friends, land on planets, explore or whatever your way to whatever goal you choose. It's available to try in it's current Alpha State now, you can give feedback & influence the direction of the game BUT it is VERY ALPHA.
Squadron 42 is the Single Player Campaign of Star Citizen & the Spiritual Successor of Wing Commander. The Idea is the game is immersive, cinematic, beautiful & seamless... NO LOADING SCREENS once in game.

I am an Independent Content Creator & Star Citizen Fan. I am not paid by Cloud Imperium HOWEVER I am an Evocati Member and as such I am under an NDA for Closed Early Patch Tests of Star Citizen', known as the Evocati Test Flight (ETF). I've said it 100 times. It's a size 7 cannon. If it hits a small ship it should do devastating damage but it should be relatively easy for a pilot to dodge. It should be on the small ship pilot to move their ship not a nerfed complication on the Ion. Let the big gun be a big gun.

As critical as I am of _many_ aspects of SC, it's because I want it to be a great game. I, too, find it really pathetic when "journalists" literally fabricate nonsense from whole cloth in order to drag on the game _unfairly_ - criticize the game for its actual problems, not problems you've made up, "journalists."

The 4.0 preview game is feels so much more responsive with high server fps. There are still a lot of bugs, but it is getting better with each server hot fix.

This is a big failure of CIG to keep with open and honest development. They play everything so close to their chest and try to appease people with platitudes only to walk things back or change expectations when their platitudes fall flat.

In terms of "what do I want". really, I just want to be able to play whats already there. Without getting glitched, stuck, teleported, killed by an elevator, etc. Thats all. If they would get all of that finally worked out, with no desync, it would be amazing.

The ares should absolutely have a greater range and alpha damage than most fighters, but I also think that it should have way worse maneuverability. It should also have some kind of weakness to missile barrages, meaning that if you are going 1v1 vs a light fighter with a bunch of tiny missiles, you should lose in most situations. Large ships are where the ion and inferno should really excel, but if you get popped by that S7, you get popped.

I like the part where they call random contractors and AI at content farms "journalists." Why is journalism so shoddy these days? Because it's not journalism. It's outraging (read: engagement) farming for both sides of the aisle.

i think alot of haters miss the fact that despite how big and well funded CIG have become, they are still relatively inexperienced as a company. they where a couple dudes in a shed type situation that got blown up to a juggernaut that rivals the biggest AAA firms with a fraction of the released titles and interaction with the wider market. and alot of these issues that we face as the star citizen community seem to come from cig still trying to figure out how to handle everything and balance all this growth with the scope the ever increasing and changing dev teams want for the game and the scope the consumers want with realistic tech and timelines AND the general logistics that come with running a multi-million dollar international company.

They’re so close I can almost taste it. I cannot wait until this game is at a playable state. I’ve been waiting since 2012 and I finally bought the game at IAE this year and I just can’t wait to actually be able to play a game loop without it crashing or bugging out!

investigate the information, investigate the source, confirm validity, print the

if nothing can be found valid or could not be confirmed.... it never got printed in the outlets worth their grain in salt....

nowadays it's make an article, use article as proof... even if the article gets debunked.... they seem to use clicks and views as a proof of concept to confirm validity of the subject material....

clicks and views may get them money, but truth will always stand superior over the made up BS they seem to like to push

I sat with the guys last night for over an hour for all of us to struggle through playability issues. It takes a long time to get to the action on a good day. The issues make it worse. I’ve been backing since 2013. I truly hope that playability becomes perfect this year. The playability issues make every time harder than the last to get back into SC. It’s frustrating because I love the project. I’m considering ending my subscription on RSI store.

The first implementation of server meshing has made the game perform significantly better, so I'm feeling positive about whatever other improvements we might see this year.

I feel like with the Aries the ship should have maybe one or two smaller sized weapons on the opposite side of the big gun so maybe two size 2 that way it’s not really competing with other fighters, but if it is ever caught in a pinch, then they can try to fight itself out because the eclipse is a torpedo bomber, but it also has small weapons to defend itself if it has to
