My new favorite way to visit Zion is via e-bike. Anders and I took a ride through the gorgeous canyon and loved every minute of it.

Hereโ€™s what you need to know about biking in Zion:

๐Ÿšด๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ The road through Zion Canyon is closed to vehicles except for shuttle buses and folks staying at the Zion Lodge.

๐Ÿšด๐Ÿฟโ€โ™€๏ธ You must pull over and stop completely when a shuttle bus approaches (our bikes had handy mirrors so we could see them coming).

๐Ÿšด๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ You can access all the shuttle stops (and more!) and lock your bike at a bike rack. Hike the Riverside Walk to the Narrows, see Emerald Pools, or check out the Court of the Patriarchs.

๐Ÿšด๐Ÿฟโ€โ™€๏ธ E-bikes with kid seats are available if your kiddo is too young to ride.

๐Ÿšด๐Ÿฟโ€โ™€๏ธ Parking is challenging and expensive in Springdale. We had to walk 0.5 miles each way from parking to the bike rental shop - not a big deal if you have the time. Next time I would check with the rental places ahead of time to see if any of them offer parking.

๐Ÿšด๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ They go pretty fast! Anders got up to 24 mph. Even on low engine assist, the bikes take little effort. You can just enjoy the scenery!
