My new favorite way to visit Zion is via e-bike. Anders and I took a ride through the gorgeous canyon and loved every minute of it.
Hereโs what you need to know about biking in Zion:
๐ด๐ปโโ๏ธ The road through Zion Canyon is closed to vehicles except for shuttle buses and folks staying at the Zion Lodge.
๐ด๐ฟโโ๏ธ You must pull over and stop completely when a shuttle bus approaches (our bikes had handy mirrors so we could see them coming).
๐ด๐ปโโ๏ธ You can access all the shuttle stops (and more!) and lock your bike at a bike rack. Hike the Riverside Walk to the Narrows, see Emerald Pools, or check out the Court of the Patriarchs.
๐ด๐ฟโโ๏ธ E-bikes with kid seats are available if your kiddo is too young to ride.
๐ด๐ฟโโ๏ธ Parking is challenging and expensive in Springdale. We had to walk 0.5 miles each way from parking to the bike rental shop - not a big deal if you have the time. Next time I would check with the rental places ahead of time to see if any of them offer parking.
๐ด๐ปโโ๏ธ They go pretty fast! Anders got up to 24 mph. Even on low engine assist, the bikes take little effort. You can just enjoy the scenery!
