Coming from someone that voted against him, I actually really appreciate that he’s owning his own loss. He apologised to his constituents and voters following the election and is now continuing his attitude of “Yeah I lost, but I’m still going to do my job”. This paired with Starmer’s slip up recently where he referred to Sunak as “Prime Minister” and joked about how old habits die hard (showcasing Starmer’s humility) gives me hope that we’re walking into a more honest government than we’ve had for 2 decades

Where was this personality and inclination to tell the truth when he was the PM?

Rishi is a far better Leader of the Opposition than he was Prime Minister! And vice versa Keir Starmer.

Sunak seems far more relaxed now and like he is letting his personality come through, he is far more likeable as leader of the opposition than PM

If only Cruella accepted tory defeat with this much magnanimity, rather than ignore voters who called to tell her how glad they were that the tories were booted out, and choose to gaslight the narrative about low voter turnout.

The Tories desperately need to keep this man in charge of the party.

I certainly didn’t vote for him but boy am I glad that we have someone over here who can accept they lost and even make a joke about it instead of claiming it was all rigged and inciting an insurrection

Can't phantom that Rishi Sunak can be a likeable person. Where was this person during his tenure?

Sunak is the first fairly " normal" grown up in charge of the tories since John Major. The rest of them are the stuff of nightmares.

Sunak now acting like a cute puppy who would not harm anyone, or steal taxpayers money behind their backs.

Honestly my problem was never with Rishi Sunak, it was the conservative leaders before him and the conservative party behind him that ultimately gave him no chance of ever winning the 2024 election.

Boris and Liz did all the damage and then got Rishi to wear the L.

He doesn't have to worry about the crazy headbangers in his party anymore and it shows. He's party is a centrist party now (121 MPs most of them are centrist). None of Suella's cheerleaders survived

Sunak actually seems more happy and relaxed not being PM.

I must admit as as a lifelong Labour voter----albeit somewhat reluctant on occasion---I still think Mr sunack is a decent man and yes people can say he's a billionaire and regardless of what happens he will be OK----but you could argue that a lot of people on both sides of the house are not billionaires they are very comfortable off compared to the vast majority of the populus so there's only so much mileage can be gained from that comparison----.

No doubting Sunak as a technocrat, but as a front man, leading an election he really struggled to connect with the electorate. Head Boy trying hard too hard vibe. Shame for him he couldn’t show this comic humility more . As an aside this does reflect the best of British politics . Magnanimous and gracious in defeat - no contemptuous threat to overthrow democracy like Trump . That said after being beaten so bad he had little choice
