100 × ¼ × 5 = 125

Multiplication and Division are inverse operations.

I see it as

100

4(2+3)

So if you reduce 100 and 4 you end up with

25

(2+3)

parenthesis next so it will be

25

5

So I get 5. No matter how I do it, I always get 5.

100 / 4 ( 2 + 3 )
100 / 4x2 + 4x3
100 / 4 x 2 + 4 x 3
25 x 2 + 4 x 3
50 + 12
62

Error is on second line duh'
100 / ( 4x2 + 4x3 )
100 / ( 8 + 12 )
100 / ( 20 )
5

So that's an extra way to get to solution "5" 🙂

Pie r squared isn’t in parenthesis so the order isn’t an accurate comparison. Using Pemdas the correct order would be to start with exponents and then implicit multiplication

A variable can be a constant or a term.

You are multiplying two terms (you can think of them as terms). Although, terms are actually separated by Addition and Subtraction.

I have a Ti-84 Plus that is approved by the American SAT, ACT, and AP that will make this calculation.

Fractions can be written written Vertically or Horizontally.

5÷9 is the same thing as 5/9. Whether 5/9 is written vertical or horizontal.

Variables can be Fractions. Distributive Property is Multiplication.

a(b+c) = ab + ac

Multiplication is repeated addition.

I was taught PEMDAS. I went to Jr. High in the 90s, and I was born in the 80s. If PEMDAS which is a Mnemonic (Memory Aid) for the order of operations were wrong that would mean every teacher who taught PEMDAS Pre-Internt (Google) would be wrong for teaching it.

Einstein's Equations at low Velocity are Newton's. For an equation to be true the, values on both sides of the "=" sign must be the same. Are you saying that Einstein and Newton are wrong?

An absolute needs no parenthesis meaning nothing left tpo solve in parenthesis.

There is no Ambiguity.

100/4(2+3)≠100÷(4(2+3))

100/4(2+3) = 125

100÷(4(2+3)) = 5

We know from F = MA (F=Force)

Variables can be fractions

Acceleration is Velocity over time.

Velocity: M/S

Acceleration: M/S²

What does bi mean in Binary? Two.

It's a binary operation

Commutative Property

Field: Algebra

A binary operation is commutative if changing the order of the operands does not change the result.

The Commutative Property only works in Multiplication and Addition.

a x b = b x a

Let a = 100/4, Let b = (2+3)

a x b, substitute the values for a and b.

Do a and b before you multiply.

100/4(2+3)

25(2+3)

25 ×5 = 125

Distributive Property (Multiplication)

100/4(2+3)

100/4×2+100/4×3

25×2+25×3

50+75=125

Order of Operations

1. Parentheses (inner to outer)

2. Exponents

3.M/D - whichever comes first from left to right (just like you're reading a book).

Note: Do all Multiplication and Division before you Add and Subtract.

A/S - whichever comes first from left to right (just like you're reading a book).

100/4(2+3)

100/4×5

25×5 = 125.

We also know from the Associative Property of Multiplication and Addition

(a+b) + c, or a + (b+c)

(a x b) x c, or a x (b x c)

Multiplication is repeated addition.

Fahrenheit to Celsius

C = 5/9(F-32)

For an equation to be true, the values on both sides of the "=" must be the same in both sign and number. If they're not, it's not an equation.

1=1, -1≠1, X=X, -X≠X

I guess by some people's logic

-7² = -49 and 49

Can equal both?Help me understand your logic.

How about Ohm's Law?

It has to do with electricity.

V=IR

V= Volts, I = Amps R = Resistance

Let I = 100/4, Let R = (2+3)

100/4(2+3)

25(2+3)

25 x 5

V= 125

Are you saying there are two different rules for Expressions and Equations? No. You can think of Expressions as practice for real Equations.

Too much irrelevant talking. Just get to the point. The answer is 125
