Thanks to Microcenter for sponsoring today's video!

The Asetek SimSports range of Sim Racing gear has hit the ground running with what has proven to be excellent quality hardware that provides a very good driving experience. With their entry-level La Prima range now available, there is a new entry point to getting Asetek hardware on your sim racing setup. The La Prima range provides much of what we have come to appreciate about the more expensive Asetek gear, while only sacrificing features that might be considered a luxury.

So let's see how it stacks up against Asetek Simsports' more expensive gear, and competitor products!

As someone who is currently looking into this market and deciding what ecosystem to go with, I really appreciate going through each companies ecosystem. These videos help so much!

I've had the La Prima for a couple months now, and I'm absolutely mindblowned by the quality and feel of it. Has everything I need and more.

I've been slowly educating myself this year on what I want from my first sim rig and which manufacturers/components made the most sense for my needs and budget. After seeing this video, I decided I had done enough tire kicking and decided it was time to jump in. Thanks to Microcenter significantly dropping the price of the Asetek Tony Kanaan bundle I now have a rig that performs way beyond my expectations and for significantly less than I imagined.

You channel is a pleasure to watch but is also a trusted voice for those of us that have limited access to this type of hardware. I can't thank you enough for your thoroughness and professionalism.

I already bought this bundle before your review was out, although it hasn’t arrived yet. Really glad to see that your so positive about it, keep it up😁

love the transparency and well, i wrote a few other comments earlier as well, but to cut it short, you've earned yourself a new subscriber!

I watched all the reviews I could find and finally decided to buy the La Prima bundle. I'm moving up from a Logitech G920, and I've never used anything else. I got my La Prima a couple of days ago and finally got a chance to take it for a ride earlier today. I've never been so pleased with a gear purchase. This thing is so far above and beyond my expectations. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great DD wheel. Not only the wheel - the pedals are beyond fantastic. Get it. You won't be sorry.

The whole Asetek lineup and bundles are well defined. Each level seems a genuine step up. I know that I’d probably get the invicta because I have a “buy once, cry once” attitude to these sorts of things and I’d lose money upgrading over time. Great video. Cheers!

Very thoughtful and thorough review. I believe anyone can make a sound decision of making a purchase decision on these or not. I love the quality of the content as well. Well done!

Ever since i pre-ordered the Moza r12 and KS Wheel i have been dreading this review Will. I also got the Fanatec CSL Elite V2 pedals. So I have a clutch, very good brake pedal, and a clutch release on my wheel. And unfortunately the La Prima bundle was an extra chunk of cash when you added GST and shipping to Australia.

But yes, this stuff looks to be both quality and beautiful (i love the aesthetic). I particularly enjoy the videos of the Aseteck CEO introducing his gear. He is such a non-professional presenter .. i can tell he is all about the product and not the advertising. Best of luck to Asetek. I think they will be very successful.

This review finally made me open my wallet and treat myself to a new DD wheel. I went for the Forte pedals after seeing your other review rather than the La Prima ones as luckily Asetek also do just a base and wheel bundle as well allowing me to add I my preferred pedals. Can’t wait for it all to arrive, thanks guys for a well balanced an informative look at the Asetek products.

I got this bundle as my first ever Sim racing gear, honestly it feels like it will be all I ever need.
It's easy to use, solid and feels like a real piece of equipment, not a toy.
Pretty happy with the purchase and I feel like 12 NM is more than enough, it is very strong.

Great review mate.

Regarding Kevin Magnussen's settings, something to remember is that Formula 1 cars have power steering. So the forces through the wheel may not be as high as you might guess. Interestingly Formula 2 and Formula 3 cars don't have power steering, so their wheel response is said to be much heavier.

A great approach to less expensive products in their range. Take away features, and don’t compromise on the quality.

at 18:00, I believe you misspoke, I recently bought the la prima package, and also got the dual clutch paddles as well since the clutch pedal was out of stock, and they do not work with the wheel, so the hall effect sensor does not appear to be built in here

The wheelbase is for sure a solid choice. Pedals and wheel you can keep. Wheelbase for sure will be a great choice for any and all.

The Asetek wheel rims definitely look like toys to me. Something about the buttons and thumb encoders looks really plasticky. Not a fan, but I like the open nature of the WB to use any wheels.

The KS wheel, while in the same league visually, does more to convince me it's a real wheel rim. Especially the finish on the plastic housing and illuminated buttons.

I still don't know what ecosystem I want to buy into, but I like that there's so much competition that's making it difficult to choose.

0:33 "They haven't sacrificed actual build quality to provide a cheaper price point"

Yeah... This is still insanely expensive for most of us XD -The G920 gang.

Is it just me, or does Asetek have some of the worst looking wheels on the market, kills the whole product for me! 🤷

Great video! I was about to order a Moza R12 until I saw this. Microcenter has an interesting bundle called the Asetek Tony Kanaan Bundle which is TK branded but consists of the La Prima base (but with the 5 USB port in the back that doesn't come on the standard base), a TK branded Forte wheel and TK branded La Prima pedals. Its priced higher than the La Prima Bundle at $1900, but for some reason it was on sale last week for $1200. I went straight to the store and bought it and have been loving it, really good stuff. If you can get it for $1200, this is a steal - better wheel functionality, and you can add the clutch pedals to it which you can't to the La Prima wheel. Also, for anyone looking for just the base, Microcenter sells it separately as well as in the bundle.

I have the Invicta Wheelbase. With the VRS. Pedals and I have couldn't be happier with this setup.
