Thermostat Switch Temperature control | How it WorksThanks for WatchingWhat is a thermostat switch?Overview. A thermostat exerts control by switching heating or cooling devices on or off, or by regulating the flow of a heat transfer fluid as needed, to maintain the correct temperature. How does a thermostat switch work?Mechanical thermostats regulate heat thanks to the expansion of their internal metallic strips. This strip carries electricity through the connected circuit, switching on the heating. As the strip heats up, one of the metals expands enough to open the circuit and switch off the heating, cooling the room down.

A crude demonstration, but works great. Thanks for taking the time to post a video!

Normaly open means ther is no electricity going through and normaly closed that electricity is going through, you have than mixed up your video and its exactly the opposite. 🤔
If the switch reaches 93°c than the electricity runs through, that's normaly open switch.
If you have a normally closed switch it would be by 93°C open the circuit and wouldn't let any electricity through.
For a water heater you would need than a normaly closed switch with 105°c that than switches of when the water boils to about 105°C ± the error % Procentage. But I could be wrong with my migraine right now. 😔

What is the difference between ksd201 and ksd301? I need 201 for water heater but I am able to find only 301 around me, can I use it?

Thanks for the video. I want to replace a thermal fuse 250v 169c with this but the one that I found has a spec of 250v 40-180c (175c), what does this spec mean?

I bought KSD302 and test it with the heater. The two terminals become extremely hot and I'm afraid it could burn the cable.

is there any way to add it to a buzzer? so if the temperature gets to the set amount on the switch, the buzzer starts to ring?
this is the only video that I found that shows something useful, thank you.

Please advise Thermostat model for switching on kitchen exhaust fan at higher temperatures in room and cut off when temperature reaches below set temperature.

Does it mean I can use the 250v ac version on 12v dc and lower? 🤔

So if a thermostat is set to 60 degrees and the temperature drops, the contacts close and the heat comes on. But what if you want to go from 60 to 70 degrees, how do the contact close when the heat is rising rather than falling? Thanks
