Thank you so much for this! I teach for many recreational and competitive studios and am trying to keep the principles of classical ballet in my classes. It has been a long journey getting my students to be focused and disciplined at the barre (not talking during barre exercises) and have enough understanding of terminology where they can rely on themselves to perform the combination (not mimic the teacher) but after several years we are just starting to get to a place we can really make discoveries. Keeping exercises very short and focused, using appropriate music and proper repetition has been helping a lot. Thank you again for sharing these insights, especially on how to measure progress! It really means so much ❤️
