It's not a great day when you sell your Marine grandfather's WW I helmet. Period.

Rick: "The thing is, when someone comes in to buy them they are going to get a deal for both." Seller: "Well that's not my problem." I mean yeah it is if you expect Rick to buy it.

The spike on the pickelhaube was NOT "just for decoration"... before WWI... cavalery battles were very common and the spike protected from sables...

Seller of the helmet did a really good job playing his cards for that 750. He said he would've taken 300.

It's really fun how he wears the viking gold bracelet he bought, that thing is beautifull

The US. Marine Tommie Helmet is also called the Doughboy Brodie Helmet.

The successful and but almost disasterous Battle that the Marine Corps fought in was the Battle of Belleau Wood and Capture of Chateau Theirry before the full scale Meuse Argonne Offensive

I'm not a big sentimental guy. Stuff like jewelry or artwork passed down through the family I'd have no problem selling off. With that said there's no way I could sell that flag. If I didn't have room for it I'd donate it to a museum. It's priceless military history that should be displayed for all so that story lives on.

Hey Rick - the word you are looking for is CAVALRY, Calvary was where JC had his Cross. 😀.

Rather impressed by that modern, unconventional looking saddle.
It reminds me of modern bicycle seats, they also have an open space in the middle to relieve stress on whoever is sitting on it and it also helps with ventilation of course.
