I have learned so much from your videos. I lost 80 pounds in 2023, and had to replace my wardrobe, so I followed your guidance.
I attended a conference last week and saw lots of friends I had not seen in at least 6 months. When I walked in the first day, dressed in dark jeans, navy patterned jacket and coordinated pocket square, blue/white striped shirt from Collars & Co, white leather sneakers, navy/white striped belt. I’ve also updated my hairstyle similar to yours. I’m 67 so my hair and long beard are white. Many folks did a double take and commented “I didn’t even know you at first.” I got compliments throughout the 4-day conference about my style, like “you are Mr GQ”; you are so put together; and one lady said, “you look f***ing awesome”. My goal was not to get compliments, but to have confidence with how I feel. I have that now. Thanks so much for what you do. Keep it up. I’m forever grateful.

The color wheel is extremely useful. It gets tricky to make new outfits without knowing about this info.

Basic colors blend nicely together .. tan. brown, black, blue, grey ...simple

Thanks for the look into complimentary, analgolous, and contrasting colors.

What I like about your show is that you are stylish and well tailored, but less formal than other shows. Sometimes you show examples of stylish people wearing pants with belt loops, yet no belt. What is your theory on that? Keep up the good work.

I have silver hair and beard, like you, with blue/grey eyes. I find black, navy and dark grey are my go to colors. My wife says dark greys go best with my eyes. It’s the other colors that I find difficult to get right, like mustard, reds and greens.

I guess I need to sub to your group!

Hello John; as usuals, great video!
Just a quick note: neutral colors are only White, Blanco and Gray!
Navy is shade of blue, and for that reason it is considered 1/3 primary colors!

I just stick to solid blues & black. Add some color in my shoes during the summer.

True - everything you wear looks like it was made for you, John - fit, color, very put-together. I can relate to the question - I literally have 600 pairs of pants and 600 shirts, and NOTHING matches. I need an intervention!

Nice, short, informative video. I appreciate the authentic and original format of actually speaking directly in response to your audience. Lately I have been receiving MANY generated AI videos through the YT algorithm. They have started to invade the world of fashion topics with that fake, often times British, automated voice along with AI generated images. I will always watch real people speaking to people, so 'thumbs up' to the hard work!

While not any sort of expert by any stretch, amongst my friends, work colleagues, and the fairer sex, I have always been considered a smart dresser. To that, I have always held the belief that basic colors (navy, charcoal, white, black, khaki brown, etc) should form the spine of your wardrobe, both pants and shirts. There are countless patterns, textures, and combinations that can keep these interesting. Adding seasonal appropriate colors for example, burgundy in autumn, kelly green in winter, pink in spring, riviera blue in summer, can provide that extra boost to increase visual interest. More times than not, when I have purchased an item that strays from this philosophy, it quickly becomes faddish and stale, soon relegated to the unworn portion of my wardrobe.

John wanted to share my excellent experience with Collars & Co. from a recent video you did. As I'm going on a trip soon to see one of my favorite friends I wanted to pick up a few new items, and as it happens the other day you mentioned Collars & Co., so I jumped on board and picked up 3 super nice Polo's. now about 3 hrs later they dropped a sale for buy 3 get one free i wasnt bothered as I did use your bonus code and received a nice discount, but I emailed them and asked very nicely if I could get a 4th polo as I did buy them just before there sale. They were super nice and said absolutely. thank you for recommending Collars & Co. They were great to deal with and very helpful can't wait for my new polo's going to look pretty slick on my trip

Great vid . Considering approximately 8% of males have some form of color blindness and I fall into the even more extreme 2% category which makes it even more challenging.(an advantage in depth perception, textures amongst other things) but not great for matching colors.

Excellent content, as always! I have a few pairs of "brown" shoes. Starting to look more towards the oxblood color's here recently. I finding the oxblood is matching closer to my preferences.

I'm not a friend of pattern mixing.
Onlineshopping is sometimes tricky.... for example white shirts... there are so many varieties that you only see and feel "in person" 🤔
