Insane levels of talent in France just now. Despite sending their kids away on the July tour to Argentina and Uruguay, the squad looks SERIOUS!

When you have a "rich" country with 68 million inhabitants and almost all the regions, especially those in the south which are passionate about rugby, well-financed and well-managed clubs, with rugby schools which start from 6/ 7 years, inevitably the nursery of good players explodes. The better the teams play, the more young people become passionate and want to play, it's a sort of "snowball effect".

As a Clermont fan, I’m pretty happy having 4 players in the training squad! Hopefully they all play in the friendlies against the South American teams.

Babies go on South America tour but as you said they already have some very decent experience at Top14
I m excited to see Joris Jurand as a winger he has been class with Clermont
And can t wait to see all the u20 WC winners join the fray
A few TOP14 semi finalists will be added and amongst these I m really excited about Oscar Jegou (another wc u20) in third row : this lad is so intelligent and he offloads like crazy
I d also like to see Jordan Joseph with the number 8 on the back of his shirt, we ll see if he has gained stability and consistency bc he s a force of nature as well

The 3 backup 9 Baptiste are crazy good. Bear in mind, they are considered to be between number 4 and 6 at their position.
I used to love me some Demba Bamba and Arthur Vincent but they're really struggling to show their full potential, which is huge ( Vincent because of his injuries mainly ).

The final group will be composed of 42 players iirc, so I would expect to see a dozen of additions coming from the losing semi-final clubs.

I would mention Patrick Tuifua who is a huge prospect for the French team. As part of the U20 he would not have been selected for the tour I guess but he’s really good.
Sadly he just got injured and is put for the world cup

I look at this as the French protecting their domestic competition. Top 14 is wildly popular, fantastic crowds and seems to be growing. The nzru has undermined our domestic comps for the benefit of the ABs for 2 decades and it's destroyed the supporter base here. Personally i think there's too much focus on international rugby by NZ and others, as it centres the sport on those fans who can afford big ticket prices and to travel, rather than the regular families who just want to attend their local team regularly. France is protecting their players and the French fans who are their backbone. Good on them

As an Irish fan I am disappointed to see Frisch go to France. He definitely could have pushed for a start in the Ireland setup as we have too many 12's but enough 13's
