People show jealousy in different ways. Some are just hateful with it. I love that you’re living YOUR dream. Any information or insight is always appreciated by those of us who believe in using what we have before purchasing something new. Filling the bag with sand is a great idea!!!

My friend uses shower extension rods & uses cheap clear shower curtains to cut off other rooms in his house that don't need heating & then his other rooms get heated quicker & stay warmer.

My old trick for outside vehicles in snow season……cover with a tarp, makes getting snow off and working smarter and easier

I just want to say I watch a lot but never comment but today I saw you working and this feeling of peace came over I can only imagine what a beautiful life you live. I honestly feel like we were all supposed to live like this we have way to many comforts and then we are never satisfied. Watching you in your life every thing you do you do with satisfaction I only pray for I a life that means so much thank you so much for sharing your beautiful life with us ❤

My vote would be for the insulated shutter idea. You could then look out of your windows during the day. I live in northern Minnesota and I honestly don't mind winter, but the dark kills me. If I had to live in a dark house during those few precious hours of sunlight, I'd probably go insane. Kudos to you for being able to tolerate that insulation blocking your view.

Oh my! Wood up here in Northern MN is around $100 a cord. Dan has also been cutting up some dead trees that are already down on our property. He drags them up near the boiler with the tractor, then cuts them to chunks that fit in our outdoor boiler. We only started using the boiler at the very beginning of December, because we have a tiny wood stove that we kept going 24/7 to keep the house liveable. It wasn't necessarily warm, but we did ok until it got down into the teens overnight. At that point i demanded REAL heat! 😂😂 As to the haters, they can try to say they'd do things differently, but ultimately it's YOUR LIFE. No one gets to tell you how to live your life. As far as I can see, you're thriving up there. Keep doing your thing! ❤

Glad the snow appears to be light and fluffy, wet snow is another story. Take care up there!

Hello Alone! Great video. A small winter project for you could be sewing tubes of left over material and filling them with the sand. Then you’d have pretty door snakes. They hold up better than garbage bags, and wouldn’t be as bulky.
See you for Thanksgiving live!❤❤❤

I use rice filled tubes made from material to keep door bottom drafts out.

When you get the money, I vote for shutters. I really like the look and style they give to a home. That of course, is a big when. lol. God bless you and keep you safe and give you lots more subscribers.

Hello Alone and Kenai, Found your channel a few months ago. You are remarkable! Big cabin for sure, off-grid mindset is so how our ancestors lived not all too long ago. Slow, steady, your perfectionist qualities, making a life just how you choose. You go girl! Your life project is enjoyable to watch; thank you for sharing. Love the fact that you wear a knife and have a pistol on your hip!
