How to Remove & Charge Ring Doorbell

In this video I will show you how to unmount the ring doorbell so you can place it on charge. I will also show you how to remount it after its charged.

Before you start you will need to orange tool that came with the doorbell, but don’t worry if you you have lost it. I will also show you how to remove the doorbell using a small flat headed screwdriver.

On the bottom of the doorbell you should see a small hole with an orange clip inside.

Simply use the tool to press the clip and the doorbell should pop off from the bottom.

You can then pull the doorbell away and put it on charge.

When you charge the doorbell a blue flashing light will appear around the button to indicate the charge status. When the light is a solid blue the device is fully charged.

Once charge simply hook the top of the doorbell onto the mount and press firmly at the bottom to clip it into place.

Finally!, ...someone knows what they're talking about for the newer Ring Doorbells. There is a lot of OLD information which is not applicable. I saw plenty of vids that showed usage of the star bit, and one that just said, "Grab firmly on the sides and pull!" (idiot is causing harm to laypeople). This gentleman is precise and accurate--in a rather short video that covers all the basics. Kudos!

A useful video that shows good angles of how the gen 2 Ring doorbell should be installed. Unfortunately, for me I had Dutch lap siding and had to purchase a special mount to go under the mount that comes with the gen 2 ring doorbell.
