Dark Souls Material and Consumable Dupe Guide

A new item dupe method for Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered that lets us dupe upgrade materials and consumables without needing to wake Frampt.

It's November 24 and this still works! Thank you so much!

A few things I've noticed which help a lot:

1. When selecting the item, click with the mouse, not controller
2. When trying to select drop-item, listen for the tones rather than trying to place your mouse correctly. Bring it all the way up above the menu and then bring it down until you hear two noises (that sound when you hover over an item)
3. If you mess up the dupe mid-process you will need to "buy" an item from the blacksmith again to store the negative value
4. If you drop your heavy cestus and forget to pick it up again, you can repeat the process (item doesn't need to be in stock) - when I bought the item again it wasn't heavy and I was petrified I messed it up but still works!

still works! I don't have remastered yet but PTD was in my library and was looking for something like this. I had trouble at first because i didnt realize you had to change the drop item amount specifically with the controller but now im living well!

I use "left mouse" and "E" to do the menu swap and the purchase counter/quantity is frozen at 1. The theoretical quantity is also only 99 instead of 999, so two digits instead of three. Any suggestions?
It only works if my amount of souls is below the purchase price of a weapon, but then also only with two digits.

the second part of the glitch can be done on console on dropable items using the brightness version of the 999 use glitch but instead of using them you drop them. if we could find a way to do the first part of the glitch we could do the second part as well

Still works in 2021. Instead: I hold the right mouse button, press "A" on the controller when the "Quit Game" is highlighted, and let go of the right mouse button. The rest is same.

I've been having some issues replicating this when I do not already own the wep that I'm going to buy multiples of. For example when I do not own a long sword and prompt swap from the arrows to the longsword at Andre the quantity purchaser will appear, however it'll be stuck at 1. If I buy 1 longsword and then prompt swap, I can buy a quantity of longswords. Do you know what I might be doing wrong that it's not working when I don't already own one of the item? I've seen it work here and a couple other places

*ATTENTION PEOPLE WITHOUT A CONTROLLER*

you dont actually need to have an xbox or playstation controller to do this glitch. why? because by using pc you already have 2 controllers. your mouse and keyboard.
you can do the glitch by just swapping the controller inputs with your keyboard inputs. use the arrow keys to go to the arrows you want and press e to select them while also clicking on the weapons tab with your mouse (at the same time). if you do it right then you will be able to buy as many of the weapon as you could the arrows

Seems to be patched? I can't go to negative values, I can get the item drop page to say 99 but when I drop it and pick it up it still only gives me one back.

EDIT: It works, you can't have any other ceastus in your inventory than the super heavy one.

Is it possible this was patched today? Ive been doing it fine for the past few days and now cant get step 1 to work, i saw something that suggested dark souls remaster may have just updated but im not sure and cant confirm

Firstly, thanks a lot for this! This is damn cool in dup-ing consumables
Can the 'very heavy' Caestus get you banned - it is some weird glitched item right?
Also, when you successfully drop a negative value, your inventory directly gets 99 of that item - then what is on the ground? A blank object? Again, does picking this up count as picking up something glitched and cause bans?

I'm having an issue where the value goes to 99 instead of 999 in Andres menu. It was working perfectly before

Either it is patched or it is just very difficult and still no luck after 10 minutes switching from arrows to weapons with the buy bolts prompt, cant do it, im clicking the arrow pressing x same time, no luck

This no longer works, as when I do the prompt swap, I get the option to increase the amount of caestuses to buy, but the number doesn't increase, making it impossible for me to buy more than one at a time.

On the first part where you buy the item with the swap. I can do this, I think, but I can't seem to get more than one item. It doesn't even have a quantity option.

this doesn't seem to work with fire keeper souls I don't know enough about this stuff to know why though
