I absolutely LOVE how Tyson still tries to help his opponent after knocking him out after such a gritty, borderline dirty fight. Tyson was a KILLER, but once he got the job done, he immediately turned off the aggression and became a respectful fighter.

I remember watching this fight as a kid with my dad. I remember hearing my dad say "Man, Tyson is losing this fight" and just as those words came out of his mouth, Botha went down. My dad went from being confused and upset to being happy as he won 100 dollars that day from my uncle.

6:13 Tyson tries to help Botha up. This REALLY makes me smile. Tyson respects Botha so much after this dogfight. What a great thing to see

I like the fact that Botha didn't look like he was peeing his pants, he stood in there and just fought the best he could against a great champion.

This is my favorite Tyson fight, past his prime, pretty much loses every round, announcers saying he looks sloppy, then WHAM 3 seconds later he lands a punch powerful enough to give a rhinoceros severe brain damage. It’s my favorite cause it’s always served as a reminder not to get cocky, 1 punch can end it all.

You could see Tyson start to understand Botha’s movements as the fight progressed. That ko was the result of finally catching him with the shot he was looking for.

Botha was the definition of a journeyman, not meant as an insult at all. The guy fought the absolute best of his era and always gave it his best just to come up short. A scrapper til the end, respect.

That was one the the few times I couldn't wait for Tyson to knock a man out.

What people don't understand is that Tyson wasn't really a bully. He was just fierce in the ring. He actually respected the guys who gave him a good fight and came right at him. He loved to mix it up. The announcers hyping Botha but he never hurt Mike. Styles make fights and Botha was kinda awkward and was barking the whole time. Mike was just waiting the catch him. Once he did that, it was a wrap.

I like how Mike Tyson always helped his opponent to their feet after the match. Almost every single time.

Gotta respect Botha for fighting Tyson and Lewis during his career unlike other heavyweights who ducked both.

There isn’t a soul on planet earth that could withstand a full power punch from the one and only Mike Tyson. He pivoted his hips and put leverage velocity and sheer power to unload on Botha with his left cross/hook. Holy shit.

Boxers are amazing creatures. I'm trying to imagine stepping into the ring with a guy who could take out a Cape buffalo like Botha with one shot, and I'm really not coming up with anything. Incredible.

Mike Tyson had at this time become a shadow of his old self.
