Punjabi and Sikh are not the same thing. Punjabis are people from the state of Punjab. Sikhs are persons who embrace Sikhism as a religion. All Punjabis are not Sikh, but a majority among Sikhs are Punjabi

I STILL dislike the fact that they still say the word Punjabi wrong all the time even after being corrected so many times. Why? It's not about the accent, it's a proper noun that has a right pronunciation. It's not about the accent anymore especially when you've been corrected so many times. It's not Troomp, it's Trump, right? They even visited Punjab and were corrected there as well. At this point, it's just ignorance.
