One great thing about Davis was he made Ryan look easy. Goes to show, hard work beats talent. Ryan has God gifted speed but relied on just that rather building on it. Davis on the other hand also has God gifted power but he learnt the fundamentals well enough to match up with any style or any stance and finally set up his power shot. Hope Ryan learns and builds on his speed.

Garcia felt stressed from like mid 2nd round and all the improvements he's done over the years disappeared and he deteriorated to a boxer he always used to be - defensively flawed, cement-footed, rear leg heavy puncher that relies exclusively on landing his lead hooks in all variations. He showed literally NOTHING. Dude regressed like 5 years back in terms of his skills, reminded of his earlier fights. It's called a "teddy bear concept" as Firas Zahabi describes it. When a fighter is overly stressed/pressured - he resorts to things that he's always been doing, no matter what you teach him to do.

I have a few more reasons why he lost. One he didn't have the maturity for this type of stage. Number two he fell for the Mayweather psych game. Mayweather was by far one of the most boring fighters in boxing, but very smart. He would talk so much shit in the press conferences leading up to the fight, to get his fighter all riled up. Then when the fight came he would just out score you, do to you being overly aggressive. Then in time if the opportunity presented it self for a knockout he would take it, because you exhausted yourself. Tank is taking the same page from Mayweather, except Tank has way more power. Tank is very very dangerous with this method. Tank lets you push forward so he can bate your ass. Once a fighter sees the scam and doesn't let Tank get in their heads, and just fights to out score Tank. That person will win the fight. I can see Devin Haney execute this perfectly.

i believe theres so much more depth you could have gone into and the history of garcia's habbits on the speed bag and sparing
hed been building these habbits for possibly 5-10 years and his coaches havent stopped him

The one thing I noticed in the fight is the Davis is controlling the range with his lead hand, pawwing at Ryan’s left hand keeping it at bay. Also so he can feel the left hook coming making it easier to duck and counter Ryan’s left hook. Watch the first knock down. It’s the lead hand that helped Davis.

its interesting how garcias hip rotates first before his hook and how its so fast. but its pretty predictable when you see his lead leg gets raised in an angle to initiate the hook

Garcia was always lackjng the ability win because of these mistakes, backing up in straight lines and dropping his hand while taking the inside angle like you said is a recipe for disaster,
Tank read that and looked to set up the punch to that hook,
Garcia failed to make the adjustment to
Tanks counter to the hook and lacked fundamentals to win this fight, as expected but he'll be back.

Why in the world as the taller orthodox fighter, Ryan would give up his height and keep his lead foot on the inside of a south paw fighter? Thats made to order dumbness.A consistent jab from Ryan and proper footwork to stay on the outside of tanks lead foot would have been the blueprint.

If Garcia was gonna go down this easy then Davis should have let him come in at his ideal weight rather than have that clause in. Give Davis his props but Garcia wasn’t at his best weight here, either.

Gervonta davis is a very dangerous boxer. he not just have power but highigest fight IQ. dumb decision ryan made was challenge davis like he gonna beat him. now peoples see he got humiliated by tank. real boxing fans know how beast tank davis is.
