Totally concur with John on this one. Blending your income generating investments is key to navigate through anything that the market is throwing at you. FTSE 100 is yielding nearly 5% in 2019 but you would not want to put all your eggs in one basket. Especially if you are dependent on the income. Bonds in the form of government and corporate bonds are a good complementary alternative but yields have been low for a long time. As per the suggestion, infrastructure is a good alternative as it tends to be less dependent on the economic cycle.
