College transfer is way more common than you realize. There are 1 million transfer students in the U.S. and they've transferred for many different reasons: to be closer to family, to attend a different academic program, or to switch from an associate's track to a bachelor's degree. But unfortunately, they often lose credits and are excluded from financial aid packages, student orientation, and academic honors programs. In this persuasive talk, Janet L. Marling reveals why this diverse group of mobile learners matters and how schools can improve educational equity by prioritizing transfer student experiences.

Universities need to offer more academic support for students coming in as well as those who transfer. Too many students are unwilling to seek help to survive in some of their tougher 300 level classes. For what these kids are paying they deserve greater support.

The expensive cost of colleges has affected how students have to attend community colleges and/or some students don't have money for room and board (some become homeless).

How to better education ? By starting to reduce economic inequality. => Tax the rich and give better means to the poorer areas, schools included. And voilà.

It’s prob’ nerves and her being unable to control it but her stumbling over her words made this hard to connect to … also my side-eye to higher education when the debt doesn’t always equate to the money payout in future jobs & sometimes experience can take you further unless your occupation absolutely requires certification/degree

Well we can rule out universal education, so you will need to have money or be able to barrow large some of money right now when being in debt is the last thing you want to do as the economy implodes.

Going by the truly scary and appalling inabilities in Arithmetic spelling, grammar and context EVERY day, we need to go back to first grade to sort things out FIRST!

When so called maths teachers are utterly incapable of undertaking SIMPLE expression evaluations accurately and correctly in the multiple FB posts about arithmetic, HOW can we expect kids to be taught correctly about ANYTHING?

So called English teachers are as bad!

We are heading inexorably towards a world where the film Idiocracy looks totally benign and sane by comparison! 🤔🙄😢😢😢😫😫😫

(Watch the film to see what I mean)

For a more high brow viewing, watch the episode of Newsroom with Jeff Daniels responding in a VERY frustrated way to a VERY naive undergrad student! BTW ... He was right, and would STILL be right today, except TODAY it's even worse! 😢😢😢

The “Future of Higher Education” is currently DOOMED by this forceful push of “WOKENESS” where those who capitulate (by agreeing to be HIGHLY OFFENDED by EVERYTHING they are told is suddenly offensive) do well, and those who refuse (by choosing to simply abide by the laws of common sense) are purposely marked to never even have the chance to do well...

Let’s discuss THIS Teddy!!

Associate degrees are practically worthless these days. And I've seen plenty of companies that won't pay workers a livable wage that will allow them to pay off the student loans they incurred while earning a bachelor degree. It's insane to pay someone $12/hour to someone with a bachelor's but I see this on indeed all the time. Make it make sense!
