I screamed “No way!” as soon as I saw that title, Subnautica is one of, if not THE best Aquatic Adventure/Terror Game of this time, Sure it’s not widely talked about, but it has real passion and love going for it, always excited for what’s to come in its future!

I can't mod any ways so I love DLC's and, I quite enjoy Subnautica & Subnautica Below Zero so I am hoping for a DLC with the return of the ancients left in mind and the same thing for a Below Zero DLC.

I’d go back to subnautica any time I want honestly, the main thing is I’d only really go back to the first game over the sequel

not everything needs to be a "forever game", ffs.

i hate this modern notion that stuff has to go on forever. Sometimes, it's better to just be a one & done sort of deal - and narrative games are exactly like that.

sure, you can add onto the story with sequels and whatnot - but even a single self-contained entry is fine.

This is why Unknown World NEEDS to add multi-player to Subnautica 3. Don't know why they've been so multi-player phobic for the last couple of years.

The issue is that once you complete the game there's no need to come back to it. Unlike something like Minecraft where you can complete the game and there's lots more to do, especially on multi-player.

I just got subnautica, I don’t think it’s dead! They literally just updated the first game in December and the developers have said they are working on the next subnautica game

Subnautica is definitely not dead, I assume once subnautica 2 gets formally announced the game will pick back up in popularity

Subnautica popularity is going to explode when Return of the Ancients gets released. It's gonna be huge! I can't wait to do an ultimate playthrough with ROTA, De-Extinction, Field creator studios and the Bloop mod all at once. It's gonna be epic...

Honestly, the Subnautica franchise is definitely less popular than it used to be, but it's nowhere near dead

it's only natural, as you said yourself, for a game to dip in average players, when no new content is released, including mods. but i don't think subnautica will ever "die" since it, again as you said, has a lot of replay value, i just started a hardcore run, trying to do everything, meaning all things scanable, scanned, all seeds obtaineble, collected, and planted, and all creatures containeble, contained. a huge goal, and i know this will keep me playing for a good time, let's just hope i don't get surprised by a leviathan outside of a vehicle, or the likes

yeah but one thing that they could do that would make the game really boost in popularity is adding multiplayer. i know it would take awhile but still that would be awsome
