I think they serve both purposes for people who have a good idea of how much water each plant needs. The saucers have the raised parts specifically so the pot isn't sitting in the small residual from top watering. I do both depending on how dry the top soil looks.

Yes and i have a lil hand pump to get out the extra water when my larger plants are done bottom watering

I love the moss idea! I keep all my plants in nursery pots inside of decorative pots. I think the moss would be so pretty!

This is what I do! Bottom water all the way. Although should I be watering more frequently? I repotted some of my succulents and the roots were non existent 😅😂

Noooo! Terrible advise: re keeping the plant in it's nursery pot! So many plants are completely rootbound and just ick in those! Repot into decent sized new pot, then it's OK to place in larger decorative pot for bottom soaker system! Win - Win.
