This review was done in 2 parts. On the street, I30 N was clearly better car. On the track, Civic type R was better car but, according to the reviewers, not by much. I think the result is fair. To me, street performance and comfort are more important than the track lap time.

I'm going to put my two cents in and say my take on the reason why they chose the Hyundai I30N is because it's the best all rounder however for a track test they should have picked the civic type r

Edit: I just realized that the review was done in two parts and the Hyundai I30N won because it was the best all rounder on both the track and the street

That i30 N is amazing. I reckon the next version will be better than the current Type R, which will keep pressure on Honda to do even better. This is how hot hatches should be.

Trofeo Track tyres fitted to the i30N which you failed to advise in the vid, given the Type R does not, it's an annialation.

i wish the civic type r looked better... amazing vehicle. only legitimate upgrade from my manual golf R. perhaps the new megane RS but haven't driven that one yet.

Come on guys. I take this as a joke. I own a 308 GTi 270 currently, owned a Golf GTI previously. As everyone knows, Type-R is the king of hot hatches at present.

You don’t drive the car on the track often if ever, Hyundai is more accessible to a greater range of people, a great all rounder and looks better, why pay 10-15k more fir a car that’s less than a second faster on the track, i30 all the way
