How I Battle the Extreme Cold in Sweden

I don’t want to let another winter drain me of energy and happiness because of the cold and dark months. The only way to do so is to change the way I think and feel about it and to not see it as my enemy, but my friend.

I think that is a very wise sentiement. We cant change things outside of ourselves, but we can change how we think and feel about them and make them more functional that way.

Your videos Inspired me in 2020. Before I had heard of ice baths or knew it was a thing. After watching one of your videos in the freezing cold water, I started going out in the snow every morning and just laying in it as long as I could. This helped me tremendously during that dark winter when I was deep in grief after a tragic loss. Thank you ❤

Changing yourself from the INSIDE out instead of wishing something outside of you would change... its always the way to go ❤ Love you Jonna 💫

While I am not as far north as you, I too live in a northern clime. Winter is cold, dark, and ruthless, but comforting, quiet, and merciful in it's brutality. It will tear you down beyond anything you could ever even conceive. But you have the greatest freedom to choose how you react to this. And I am glad to see it used so positively

I needed to hear this, I dread the winter, but I'm going to try and embrace it. Sending warm love and hugs to you Jonna and everyone ❤

🥹as a northern Canadian🇨🇦I can soooo so relate to all of what you’re saying! Last winter was the same for me. The past few years have been so draining and I’m so tired of that feeling. Thank you so very much for helping reignite that flame 🔥 in me to push through and do the same!👊🧊🤗✨

It is reassuring to see these videos. It may take time, you have all of the time you need. Your followers are behind you and will never abandon you. All of us are glad that you are slowly emerging from this period of reflection. It is a global phenomenon, it seems everyone is reevaluating their paths and trying to use the time each of us has on this planet to walk in harmony, harming as few as we can along our way. Peace to you, Jonna.

THANK you for this message! I've always loved the winter. The cold makes me feel alive in a way nothing else can. I find that the majority of people see it as nothing more than a nuisance, but when you change your outlook it can completely flip how you view the cold season. It is a time of rest, of chilling beauty, of cold vitality. It is not something to dread, but to look forward to!

Let us not look on winter as a time of depression, but of rest. 💙

The moments where we are the weakest, we can feel the 'presence of the divine/spiritual family' the most - that is something I have heard very often, I hink it is a beautiful thought, knowing, that we are not alone, that there is something after our time here on earth; and, of course, knowing, that when we are down, there is someone [or many someones] helping us, even though we never see/hear them ...

Maybe, this is just naive of me, but I like the thought.

Wonderful video as always. :) ❤

Jonna, here in Brazil we don’t have any heating and sometimes our winters go very hard since it’s tropical country it’s also very humid and this makes the cold really hard to deal, my Swedish grandma always says she thought the winter here would be more gentle than in Sweden but she was wrong 😂 wishing yall swedes to stay warm and us Brazilians to survive the h3ll that is coming (summer)

Nice to see some down to earth realistic feelings about long cold winters. All your videos show such an easy going beautiful winter. Yet that is not always the reality. Winter can really get people down, especially living in cold climates. I live in Canada, in an area with mild winter for the past three years. But the rest of my life has been spent further north where winters are just brutally cold and so long. -30 and -40 below zero Celsius is normal here yet that’s anything but normal if you ask me, it’s terrible lol.

I also live in a cold climate in upstate NY and we are already predicted to get snow in a few days. I completely understand ❤. Your videos have helped me to appreciate the beauty of winter so much! We can do this 😊 ❄️. Thank you for all of the inspiration you’ve given me over the years. 💙🩵🤍

Sweet Jonna! I have been following you for years… you are one of my heart connections to Sweden and my dear exchange student from Ljungskile (close to Uddevala) ! I also have Swedish ancestors! 😊 I visited Gothenburg when I went over to visit my Kristina & Birgit & we sailed the fjords! Life changing! You are so inspiring to me and I feel such a connection with nature and art just like you! I just wanted to share that when I am having a down season & feeling not so strong I cling to this verse The Joy of the Lord is my Strength! It’s helped me through terrible heartbreak and brokenness! Many, many people love you so much! and your sweet Nanuk & all the people you love ! I am hopeful that I can be brave enough to take an ice bath one day and I hope to wear one of your thumb rings too! So much love to you from Jane in Mississippi! 💖
