Cruise Ship Rescues 2,500 People, Carnival Sells Cruise Ship

Cruise news today. In response to growing tensions in the Middle East, the US government-chartered Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Seas to evacuate Americans and their families from Israel early Monday morning. The cruise ship became a primary evacuation source with major U.S. airlines suspending flights to Tel Aviv. For 2024, Carnival Cruise Line is hiking the Faster to the Fun by $10-$20 per cabin. This benefit allows guests to get priority embarkation, debark, and tender operations. Carnival Corp's joint venture with Adora Cruises, has sold the Costa Atlantica, a Spirit class ship built in 2000. The vessel, now renamed Margaritaville at Sea Islander, and flagged in the Bahamas. Cruise line stocks for CCL, RCL, and NCLH.

Well no more Faster to the fun for us. Other changes we may have to make is one cruise per year instead of two if pricing continues to go up.

Doug, we tried the FTTF back in Miami on an April 2015 cruise on Carnival Victory. It was ALOT less expensive then! They had some kind of medical emergency onboard during disembarkation so it delayed boarding by well over an hour. So, while we got onboard before everyone else except the Diamond members it was till close to 1pm when we boarded. The regular passengers came on right after us so it wasn't faster for anything. Lol! Never bought it again. The Port of Palm Beach is going to need to do some mods to fit a Spirit class ship at that Margaritaville dock. It is already a tight fit!

I knew the day would come when Margaritaville at sea would get a new ship. I was heart broken when they scraped The Grand Celebration and thier current ship is a depressing design that feels like a mental institution. But to get a spirit class ship with all its balconies I'll look forward to returning to West Palm Beach. Great to hear they've rebounded from Covid... I'm always pulling for them.

I'm sure you already know Carnival Cruise Lines newest ship, The JUBILEE, is beginning maiden voyage December 2023 from Galveston Texas.

BTW for Mardi Gras it was $159.95 for faster to fun for Thanksgiving holiday next 2 years.We usually don't but we did buy Faster to the fun for the next 3 cruises then we are Platinum. Mainly important for Half Moon so I don't get up at 5:30 to line up for shuttle cruise #. Last time I did that my number was 42, no chairs left. The other issue is debark for a full ship on Thanksgiving. Hope I didn't throw more money away.
