Location scouting!

We're in the first step of making a comic book here - location scouting around the city! The story will be based in Los Angeles (though not explicitly), so I plan on doing much more of this...

I've already got the Griffith Park Observatory chosen for the first scene, so with these videos and a few photos for reference, I should be able to start laying out the angles and outlining everything over the next week.

SO EXCITING!

ALSO EXCITING - it's already DAY 19 of daily videos! :)

That observatory was a spot for the Rebel without a cause scene... 'when facing the universe all problems on earth are meaningless'. Maybe such places bring different inspirations by their nature. Love to watch your work in progress.

Really enjoying hearing about the process. It’s like a look behind the scenes. Also the excitement and enthusiasm your are giving off is inspiring me to begin a project I have been avoiding taking action on.

I love Griffith Park Observatory, I had the opportunity to visit in December, it was really cool to see the sunset from there.

Love Griffith Observatory! I find it a very inspiring place and have been there lots. They once had a lady’s space themed jewelry on display in the cases that line the hallway down into the Big Room below - it was amazing. She had so many pieces! Another time, I created little mixed media coins (galaxy themed of course) and left them around for others to find and take home. Such a cool place, and I’m thrilled you got to experience it!

I'm so excited to see your comic!!! I am also scared that you will finish yours before I finish mine, which I am drawing pages for already. I know that this is because I'm just scared I won't ever finish mine. Yours seems like you are putting a lot of thought into it. I cannot wait to see the beautiful finished project!

Your 30 day skill challenges video inspired me to finally learn drawing, something I have always wanted to do but never had the motivation to do it. And then I found out that you wanna make a comic which has motivated me even more. I am on day 9 of daily drawings and already feeling so great. A huge thanks to you for sharing your journey and inspiring us. Best of luck for your challenges and projects. Have a great day.

You! Clean house? It's sparkling!!
I'm just curious to know what the end product will be: film / book / comic / artwork... Yeah - just a nosey old woman.

It's so exciting to hear about your progress, this year I also decided to take drawing more seriously by drawing every day and making a comic book. I have no idea where to start but it's exhilarating. In many ways you inspired me to stay focused on that passion over the years through your videos, so a huge thank you for sharing your journey :) I can't wait to learn more about your process !

Gosh, I hope you're able to be the structured creative and writer. I'm a binge writer. I have tried for years to be the structured one, I've so desperately tried to fit the mold, but I'm not. I'm a binge writer.
I'm so excited to witness your process.

Even though I am not really into american comics (so far), I do love Leyendecker and Rockwell as illustrators. I am a fellow graphics designer and general artsy fartsy person in private but I havent published much of my private works to the world yet. I like seeing your process diving in.

I’m so excited for you and to see what you make! In 2013 I did a 365 days drawing challenge and it has helped me tremendously back then to create the habit and refine skills. Until this say I’m glad I did it!

This short everyday videos are my favorite show now! And the end of each episode you get a clue "what's next" 🖤

Purely due to having my weekend booked (hahaha) in advance,
I didn't watch this video or the two previous until this morning.
The trio flowed really well together, almost as if it were planned! 🤣
I think it will be fun to hear the updates about writing this story. 😃

Hi Lefie, I'm sorry but creativity and having a solid structural plan may very well bite each other. Perhaps you might consider dividing your time between the two? Just a suggestion 😇 The reason I mention this is because everything I've ever created never turned out the way I had in mind at the start. Plans and ideas grow and change inevitable, and to me there's always a point where the creation kinda starts to live it's own life, and kind of "dictates" what it wants to become. So I give in and go with the flow. I wish you all the best on this project and please don't be to hard on yourself 😉
