The is no evidence to this day that Latinos or Caribbean people created hip hop. Kool Herc came to the states when he was 12 and learned how to DJ and play funk records from Black American DJs. The is no evidence that Latinos or Caribbeans hello create the hip hop culture. Puerto Ricans were the first to adapt and mimick the culture. Pop music was first coined in the 1950s to describe rock n roll music. It stands for popular music, many records that are not even pop are now being called pop including many hip hop records
