Julian Newman vs Ramone Woods was the most entertaining battle at the 2018 NEO Youth Elite Camp. Ramone Woods was courtside last year when Jaythan Bosch and Julian Newman went at it, at this year's camp he was part of the action. Woods showed his hard nosed brand of basketball while Newman showed his battle tested game, knocking down three pointers and eventually making the camp ending play that left the whole crowd shocked and excited.

Yeah the kids defense is a little rough, but when he fouled Julian they called it. He still made good defensive plays. The bottom line is that Ramone got in Julian’s head and ultimately outplayed him.

Storming the court, a WHOLE LOT of hand checking, a ton of 1 on 1's, no technicals given out??? Why have refs.... why have coaches! We need 2 be doing a better job of teaching these kids the right thing, AND there's a hype man? These kids aren't trying to start the new AND 1 I'm sure they all have dreams of being in the NBA BUT not showing them ways like this BIG DISAPPOINTMENT

In my honest opinion, both players have potential as do all the players on the court do, the problem is, Newman needs to adapt his game to be able to compete at a high level, no don’t the dude can hoop he may be a little cocky at it but who isn’t when they hyped up. It’s a big mans game tbh, especially at the college and pro level of course there’s guys like isiah Thomas and Nate, but rn nate isn’t even in the nba, which goes to show how hard it can be to compete barely under 6ft, Newman is about 5’3 and doesn’t show any signs of growing if so it needs to happen now or else his chances of moving up in levels will be very difficult, and if he stays this height so be it he just needs to be able to adapt,
