You already mentioned two of my biggest gripes with Forza Horizon: Metropolitan areas and the story. I would really like to see a proper city in an FH game. I've played since 3 and every time the urban area was only the size of a small town with not a lot of options for lengthy city races. I need some of that Need For Speed feeling. And I agree, the festival 'story' has overstayed its welcome for a long time now. I'm not entirely sure what would replace it, since any sort of story would have to be short enough to allow quick access to all the races like FH5 does. Maybe keep it completely basic and say: Here's a tournament, I also heard there's an illegal street scene, do your worst. But whatever they do, the hipsters need to go. I can't stand FH's characters, they make me cringe.

I'd love to have some Japan settings. Take me back to Tokyo Extreme Racing but in Forza.

Japan would also be good to help Microsoft in their attempts to get a foothold in the country. It just might tempt a few people over there into getting a Series console or Gamepass

I'd definitely like to see the next game take place in Japan; we'd get urban settings, mountains, forests, coastlines. Aside from setting, the two things I'd like to see most are

1. Removal of avatar items and horns from wheelspins. It should only be cars and money.

2. More new cars and less legacy cars that have been in EVERY game. I'd love to see Playground go deep into some of their car MFG catalogs and get some obscure stuff from AMC, TVR, Lancia, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Toyota. And bring back the Subaru Brat!

I dont want bikes or boats or planes . I just want more NPCs just chilling out in the open, no need for them have hit boxes just put them in unreahable boundaries if its cumbersome fot devs. More animals, birds, more dynamic events like tornados etc. Just make it feel like life exists in that game world. FH have already perfected open world racing genre. Just add life to it. No more

Hard disagree on the Festival part. I love the festival. For me it's kind of like when a new Horizon releases, it's time for me and all my racing friends to go to the festival again. Keep the festival for sure... And yeah, let's go to Japan already!

i would love a street city based map like the Midnight Club games and it could be set in Japan too.

My complaints:
- Bigger city, almost like it is own region (not some small tiny city that feels like a town)
- Meaningful progression: I dont want a Ferrari the moment I get into the game, I want to start at the bottom of the barrel and let me progress from there

I want to see a "Horizon/Motorsport" toggle to be able to have more sim-style physics in the open world. Not to take away the arcade part, just toss a toggle in there between the two modes.

Was literally just talking to a friend earlier saying that Horizon really needs to go to Japan.

When I first started thinking of Japan, I immediately thought of street bikes (Japanese biker, street racing and biker gang culture) and electric cars (Cyberpunk vibes, neon lights, robots managing hotels etc. lol).

I just wish they would get rid of the cringey characters. I'm not sure why every one of the characters is a hipster but it's really stupid. It just makes it seem unrealistic as hell.

I'd love Iceland or just a condensed region based on the stretched from the Med to the Alps. I just feel the most romanticised setting for racing is somewhere in betweed the mediterranean coast and the alps

Honestly FH2 was my first Forza, but FH5 sucks. It lacks lots of things, and the city is boring, I'm Mexican so I wanted to love this game but it's really hard. It's lacking something

The problem with forza is that they won't change anything in FH6 because FH5 didn't change anything and did tremendously great. Mark my words, it's just gonna be the same.

I think it'd be interesting if they reapproached the festival aspect with an eye towards simulation - not simulation racing, but like biz/city management sim. Something lightweight that maybe ties festival expansion to other progression loops. Ten hours into this new one and I feel like it's biggest weakness is the absence of meaningful progression - that might go some way toward fixing that.

Some sort of legit career mode with random events, standings, maybe a rival mode that ties to real races with real players (your rival is online! Press x to challenge them)

Before Horizon 6 there will be Motorsport 8 and that one sounds like it is going to be a proper "Next Gen" upgrade for the Franchise, so i'd be looking there to know what will trickle down to FH6.
Like better simulation of tires with more telemetry points. Car Pool reset like we've last seen years ago with FM5.

A Japanese setting with a radio station with GT style music would sell a few extra consoles.

One thing a lot of reviewers missed is that there's shifting animations missing from the driver's hands for tons of cars in the game. Most notable of which is the very first showcase event. The driver's hands never shift the sequential (i believe, or the car could be a manual ) even though the enormous shifter knob is to the left by the hydro handbrake. No rally/hoonigan car shifts for itself, whether it be manual or stick sequential. Issue never occurred on previous games.
