Marvel Actor Auditions And How They Landed The Role

The MCU is one of the most well known franchises in the world, and the actors within it are household names. From Tom Holland as Spider-Man, to Chris Evans as Captain America, it’s hard to imagine anyone else playing these iconic roles. But at one point, all of these positions were open for the taking, and things could have gone very differently. Some of your favorite actors almost didn’t land the roles you know them for. Even Black Widow was originally cast as someone else before Scarlett Johansson stepped in. The audition stories these actors have will give you a whole new perspective on what it takes to be cast in the MCU. From multiple rejections, to long-shot odds, this is how our favorite actors became our favorite heroes.

Did you know multiple actors went for the role of Captain America, but ended up getting a different part in the MCU? There were a lot of close calls throughout the years that could have drastically changed the face of Marvel. Even Robert Downey Jr. wasn’t a sure thing at the time. There was a lot of doubt surrounding his casting. Could you imagine an MCU where Downey isn’t playing Iron Man?

There is a boatload of talent laced throughout the MCU, and all the actors portraying our favorite heroes earned their parts with their impressive auditions. We love how everything shook out, and wouldn’t have it any other way!

Marvel Studios has had incredible success when it comes to casting the MCU. Outside of a few early bits of recasting, they've not only managed to find actors willing to come back for multiple films, but also those that perfectly embody their characters. This is true with taking a risk at the time in casting Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man or finding relative unknown actors like Tom Holland to play vital roles.

I personally think that they should've chose someone else for Captain Marvel then Brie Larson. I feel like she didn't fully fit the character Captain Marvel
