Tata Motors has recently launched its highly anticipated Curvv EV at a price of ₹17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The first thing to notice is its coupe SUV body styling which separates it from the rest in the mid-size SUV segment. Available with 45kWh and 55kWh battery packs, it is propelled by a single-motor which produces 165bhp and 215Nm. The interior components of the Curvv are picked out mostly from the Nexon — it gets electrically adjustable and ventilated seats, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, mood lighting, a panoramic sunroof, air purifier, wireless phone charger, and a 360-degree camera. Plus Level 2 ADAS which includes adaptive cruise control, active brake assist and lane keep assist. The Tata Curvv EV also gets a pedestrian safety system — a gentle hum that the car makes under 20kmph to warn people of the car’s presence. This is something you see on many European cars, and this is the first Tata EV to get one! Aatish Mishra drives the top-end variant of the Curvv EV with the 55kWh battery, priced at ₹22.9 lakh, to find out if it delivers on performance, comfort, and features and if it can compete with established rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Do you think the Tata Curvv EV can rival the Creta?

I used to be a fan boy of Tata and Mahindra but after seeing how the tata and mahindra dealerships have been treating their customers, I feel it is need of the hour that fanboys and influencers start putting a collective pressure on them regarding the same ignoring their so called value for money USP.
What do you think?

Tata falls far behind Hyundai in after-sales service. As a Tata car owner, I regret my purchase. Reliable after-sales support is crucial for building customer loyalty. Hyundai, Kia, and other brands understand this, but Tata dealers are arrogant and their warranty policies are subpar. Due to these issues, Tata can't compete with Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, or others. While they may see initial sales success, the poor service leads to one-time buyers, with no repeat customers.

Having measured the width of the rear seat back rest of the Nexon and the Seltos, i can say they are more or less the same, 48-49 inches from door to door. The shape of the seat base and the headroom is the difference.

I am having too much of a buyers remorse, brought a Punch EV 3 months back, love it but its real-world 240 km to 90% range is too tight for me for highway use which is my primary use, already have done 12k kms and a 350kms real world EV would have been perfect for me. Looking at these prices what a miss for me, Kudos Tata you are epic!!!

Curvv is a masterpiece from tatamotors. I have set my goal on the Curvv diesel.

It’s good to be a quality product then a rival.
It will face tough competition from ZS EV on the ground of value proposition and offerings.

I was waitng for this review. Now I can confidently choose MG ZS over Tata Currv. Quick comparison- Compared to ZS Executive, Curvv Accomplished has Better range, ORVM Autofold, fog lamp, leatherette seat, wireless android auto while missing engine power, rear seat space, rain sensing wiper, auto headlamp, 60:40 rear seat split. We can see Curvv is not clearly an winner over ZS for these variants, personally rear seat space is a deal breaker for me for the amount of premium I am paying.

0.50 press vehicle and as you can see the left front LED DRL is not working. As a 2021 harrier owner all i can say is TATA need to get it right with quality.

To be true..they had done a fabulous job...but from front it looks like Nexon, from side big size tigor, yes back looks interesting ..not a proper coupe...maybe only I feel that.

As you said, Basalt looks more coupe car much more well propositioned.

If we see this car from distance we don't know whether it is a Nexon / Punch/ Curvv or even a Harrier as it all have almost identical faces. But it is not like this in case of Mahindra, each of their SUV‘s have unique identity whether it is XUV 700/ Scorpio / the 3XO. The tata coupe hype will be over once Mahindra launch their Coupe electric SUV.

I am all for Tata EVs, but what really pulls them down is the after-sales service. I own a Punch EV, no complaints regarding the driving dynamics, range is improving slowly as I learn to transition to EV. But service is real concern. During my 1st service they put a dent in the car door, after complaining they worked on it. Another issue is with the AVH - sometimes it works, sometimes doesn't. 1st time it couldn't be reproduced during their test drive, so next time I went with a video. Still they couldn't figure out the issue, were frustratingly clueless. I don't get any feedback forms (digital / hard copy) after the services are completed. Maruti is miles ahead in this regard.
