We have done it. We are officially slow travelers. Friday we sold our car (we sold the house last December). In a month's time we will be in Malaysia, then Thailand. Back to the US for the holidays, then onto the Philippines and Guam in January. February/March to Panama to get our Permanent Pensionado Visa, then we take a spring relocation cruise to Rome to spend April and May in Italy. Your channel has been immensley helpful. We just signed up for the Travel course. We figure it will easily pay for itself by making one or two less mistakes.

All good suggestions...the only other thing most Americans need to adjust to is high humidity in Asian countries. If you're coming from Florida, Texas or another southern state, it might not be so bad but if you're not used to it, you will appreciate good air conditioning!

Excellent presentation and analysis. We are in the midst of moving to Malaysia via MM2H and we have travelled to many others countries on your list. We just finished our first week in Penang and my wife and 95 year-old mother-in-law were blown away with Malaysia and its people. I worked in Singapore and Malaysia over 30 years ago so the prevalence of English, value for your money and kindness of the Malaysians was not a complete surprise and I fell in love with the country all over again.

The Philippines is my new home. It's my #1 because of the Filipina wife. We're traveling to Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia for extended vacations. Love it here.

Yes, Singapore is a great gateway to Asia! I felt like I was in Florida, but an Asian version! I was ready for Thailand after being in Singapore for a few days!

I absolutely love watching your videos guys! You provide valuable information, and you get right to the point, which is appreciated. I just wish you guys would use CHAPTER markers! Especially with these "top 10" type list videos, it would be really helpful. Please consider adding chapter markers!

Another fantastic video! Thank you for sharing your experiences and wealth of information. I certainly have learned a lot from you. I am setting out on my first solo trip to SE Asia for 6 weeks starting the end of January. I would like to suggest a topic for an upcoming video that I know would be super helpful to myself and a lot of new travelers to the area. The topic would be something like SE Asia 101, knowing the basics. I believe a lot of people would benefit from suggestions on safely getting from the airport to your hotel, general transportation do’s and don’ts, forms of payment accepted, are cc accepted most everywhere or do you definitely need cash in local currency, and finally where to exchange money and/or which atm’s to use for getting cash and not getting scr*w*d. Thank you again!

Another awesome video… ❤ I’ve been to the Philippines in the 70s… it was not easy To get to for sure. We stopped in Japan on the way. But Guam and Hawaii on the way back. But I suspect that it has gotten easier with points and transpacific cruises… etc. I would like to make a request for a video called “How to get to Asia” 😂 I’m in KY, so I know it’s going to be a trip!

I was in KL and loved it. It was a like a city with trees, and the people were amazing. I also visited Vietnam. I will be back there next year and plan on checking out a few more places.
