You know, something that'll make the Marigold my constant favorite is how I accidentally intertwined it with one of my favorite OCs, Renard.

He became a funeral director in his 20s when I first made him, but I knew nothing about floriography. Coincidentally, when working on his backstory, I named his mother Marigold, and she died early in his life.
So, when he becomes a funeral director, he's already on an island that is brimming with inspiration from Mexican culture (the island from Viva Pinata, wild children's game lol). There, everyone wears a mask, and I decided I'd have his be a fox-skull inspired mask with Día de los Muertos patterns.
I also made it so that he could create candles that could commune with the dead, which is an art that his godfather taught to him. In fact, when his mother first died, his godfather directed his mother's funeral. This is where his godfather showed him the candle to commune with her. It was only then that I learned the meaning of the marigold flower.

My mind was blown back then, but writing it here makes it seem not so impressive, I realize. Anyways, that's why I love the Marigold.

As always with your videos, a truely interesting and unique peice of work, but not as always, your finesse and efforts are a rare delight for the eyes, all these illustrations, simple, elegant and personnal are bringing thoses flowers closer to the heart both of the topic and the viewer. I learned a lot today and I'm eager to discover your new ideas, maybe on the blackletter and other gothic calligraphies ? or maybe on some other flowers meanings ? With that said, allow me to offer you a bouquet of geraniums, all my gratitude.
Kind Regards

Thank you so much for the video I knew some of these but learned a lot of the others I didn't know before. In Ireland you do not under any circumstances bring in Poppies, Lilies, Hawthorn's or White Hydrangeas in someone's house.
