This is the official spice of Hungary! The good stuff really tastes amazing. You weren't altogether wrong... There is a special variety of pepper- "paprika" that is used to make paprika. They're long and red, with thin walls and a distinct taste from bell peppers!

I didn’t know that either. I know I like it, but I didn’t know where it came from, so thanks, Professor Joel! 😂

🇨🇦- we also call them red peppers just like in the USA. We do not call them capsicums - just not used commonly. Happy u learned something today Joel.

Actually Capsicum is the correct name, as it is the botanical name. Whereas, ‘peppers’ is a ‘slang’ word derived from the seeds of chillies, as they are spicy or ‘peppery’. People of India, South-east Asia, New Zealand, half of Europe(although many have their own versions) and Australia( so over about half the world) call them capsicum.

I didn’t know either and I’m 53! I knew red pepper flakes are from red peppers, but had no idea about paprika 😮
